Von Kaiser is a fictional character from the Nintendo-produced Punch-Out!! series of video games. He is a German boxer, hailing from Berlin,... Germany. He first appeared in Punch-Out!! for the Nintendo Entertainment System , and again in the Wii video game of the same name 22 years later. He was originally designed by Makoto Wada, and then by Eddie Viser in the Wii game. Horst Laxton voiced the character in the Wii version. Since appearing in the NES Punch-Out!!, Von Kaiser has been viewed as a major character in the series, and was featured as part of the Punch-Out!!-themed series of Topps trading cards. However, several outlets have noted him as an example of negative stereotyping, especially with his indirect connection to Nazism. Von Kaiser is a German boxer, hailing from Berlin, Germany. He first appeared in Punch-Out!! for the NES, and again in the Wii video game of the same name. While he speaks in English in the NES game, he speaks in German in the Wii version. Von Kaiser's musical theme is based on "Ride of the Valkyries". He has brown hair and mustache, and wears military-style pants and combat boots.

Genyo Takeda is the general manager of Nintendo's integrated research division, and has been working there since it was founded in 1981. He mostly works on improving hardware for home consoles and handhelds, but sometimes develops video games. He also created Nintendo's first arcade game, EVR Race, in 1975,. Genyo Takeda was born in Osaka, Japan. As a child, Takeda enjoyed working with his hands, building small items such as miniature trains... and airplanes. He attended Shizuoka Government University in Honshū, where he studied semi-conductors. After his graduation in 1970, he was hired by Nintendo after Takeda responded to a newspaper ad. He was interviewed and subsequently hired by Gunpei Yokoi. Takeda worked alongside Masayuki Uemura in Nintendo’s R&D2 team developing what they termed ‘an electronic shooting range.’ After a year at R&D2, Takeda was assigned control as General Manager over Nintendo’s fledgling R&D3 department.
