Morgan Stanley

Henry Sturgis Morgan was an American banker. He was born on October 24, 1900 in London, England to John Pierpont Morgan, Jr. and Jane Norton Grew. His father was the son of J. P. Morgan; and his mother was the daughter of Boston banker and mill owner Henry Sturgis Grew. Morgan had two sons. In... 1923 he joined J.P. Morgan & Co. and was a partner from 1928 to 1935. He co-founded the company Morgan Stanley in 1935, together with Harold Stanley when the Glass–Steagall Act of 1933 forced the separation on investment banking and commercial banking. At the death of his father in 1943, he, his sister Evelyn, and Junius Spencer Morgan III inherited the estate. His son Charles Francis Morgan, Sr. was an advisory director at Morgan Stanley & Company in New York. Henry Sturgis Morgan owned a vast 448-acre estate comprising the northern tip of Eaton's Neck, NY. He sold the estate on December 19, 1979 to Caesar L. Pitassy, as Trustee for an undisclosed party. The estate is still in one piece and owned by the undisclosed party. It is located at #50 Eaton's Neck Road, Eaton's Neck, New York.

Laura D'Andrea Tyson is an American economist and former Chair of the US President's Council of Economic Advisers during the Clinton Administration.... She also served as Director of the National Economic Council. She is currently a professor at the Haas School of Business of the University of California, Berkeley. Tyson was born Laura D'Andrea in New Jersey. Her father was Italian American and her mother was of Swedish and Dutch descent. Tyson graduated summa cum laude with a B.A. in Economics from Smith College in 1969 and earned her Ph.D. in Economics from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 1974. She joined the faculty of the economics department at Princeton University in 1974 and remained in the position until 1977 when she became a professor of economics at the University of California, Berkeley. She was appointed a professor of business administration in 1990. She is married to writer Erik S. Tarloff and has one son, Elliot S. Tarloff. Her brother is Alan D'Andrea, an American cancer researcher and the Alvan T. and Viola D. Fuller American Cancer Society Professor of Radiation Oncology at Harvard Medical School.
