Originally called the Mountaineer Soccer Complex, the stadium was completed in August 2004 and is named in honor of University benefactor Dick Dlesk.

The Harner Homestead , located at 1818 Listravia, in the Sabraton area, east of Morgantown, Monongalia County, West Virginia, was the home of Philip... William Harner, blacksmith and farmer. In 1983, Nancy Moore and Deloras Fleming, two women from the History Department of West Virginia University compiled information and submitted documentation to place the Old Harner Homestead on the National Register of Historic Places. The form gives highly detailed information about the exterior and interior of the home, i.e. the woodwork, porches, cabinets, and chimneys. The main section of the building was built about 1852 and is one of the oldest houses in the Morgantown area. Architecturally, it is an excellent example of an I-house with an ell in the back. The two story front porch is a common feature in the I-house. It is not known when the ell was added, but it is believed that it was built by Phillip William Harner as he had a large family of nine children who are listed on various census reports. According to the Monongalia County tax records, there is some indication that there was a smaller house on the land when Philip Harner bought it in 1850.

The system was adopted widely. The house was declared a U.S. National Historic Landmark in 1965. The property was added to the Chancery Hill Historic District in 2001.

Mountaineer Field was a football stadium located in downtown Morgantown, West Virginia. It was the home of the West Virginia Mountaineers football... team. The stadium, which cost approximately $740,000 to build, was located down the hill from Woodburn Hall, and bordered by Campus Drive to the north, University Avenue to the east, Woodburn and Chitwood Halls to the south, and eventually Beechurst Avenue on the west. It was built into the natural valley of the area, and was a square-cornered horseshoe initially opening to the west before becoming an enclosed structure. The stadium opened on September 27, 1924 with a 21-6 win against West Virginia Wesleyan College. It held 38,000 by the time it closed, after a 24-17 loss in the 1979 Backyard Brawl to archrival Pitt. Due to the cramped location, it could not be expanded, and infrastructure could not be improved. Thus, in 1980, a new Mountaineer Field was opened on the site of the Morgantown Country Club to the north of the Downtown campus, on what has become the Health Sciences campus. The historic stadium was razed in 1987.

David Lynn Selby is an American character and stage actor. He has worked in movies, soap operas and television. The naturally black-headed Selby is... best known for playing the roles of Quentin Collins on the ABC-TV serial, Dark Shadows , and as the evil and compassionate estranged son of Angela Channing , Richard Channing, on the primetime CBS soap opera Falcon Crest . Selby was born in Morgantown, West Virginia, the son of Sarah E. McIntyre Selby and Clyde Ira Selby, a carpenter. He attended West Virginia University in his hometown, earning Bachelor of Science and Master's degrees in theater, followed by a Ph.D. from Southern Illinois University. He eventually brought his Dark Shadows character to film with the second Dark Shadows movie, Night of Dark Shadows, released in 1971 after the TV series' cancellation. In 1979, Selby also turned down the role of Gary Ewing on Knots Landing, hence, the role was ultimately given to Ted Shackelford, who guest-starred on Dallas, with Joan Van Ark.

Asra Quratulain Nomani is an Indian-American journalist, author, and feminist, known as an activist involved in the Muslim reform and Islamic... feminist movements. She teaches journalism at Georgetown University and is co-director of the Pearl Project, a faculty-student, investigative-reporting project into the kidnapping and murder of Wall Street Journal reporter Daniel Pearl. The project is based at the Center for Public Integrity. She is the author of two books, Standing Alone in Mecca: An American Woman's Struggle for the Soul of Islam and Tantrika: Traveling the Road of Divine Love. She is also the author of numerous articles including "Islamic Bill of Rights for Women in the Bedroom", the "Islamic Bill of Rights for Women in the Mosque", and "99 Precepts for Opening Hearts, Minds and Doors in the Muslim World". Her work is the subject of a documentary, The Mosque in Morgantown, aired nationwide on PBS as part of the series America at a Crossroads. Nomani was born in Bombay, India, and when she was 4 years old moved to the United States with her older brother to join their parents in New Jersey, where her father, Zafar Nomani. was earning a Ph.D.

Bob Huggins, nicknamed "Huggy Bear", is the head coach of the West Virginia Mountaineers men's basketball team. Huggins previously held the head... coaching positions at the University of Cincinnati and Kansas State University . His 690–251 record during his 28 seasons as a head coach ranks him eighth in winning percentage and fourth in victories among active Division I coaches. He is one of only 4 active Division I coaches with 700 or more career victories. Huggins has been to 15 total NCAA tournaments, including 14 of the last 15 seasons. Huggins' teams have participated in the postseason 25 of 28 times, including two Final Fours: 1992 with Cincinnati, 2010 with West Virginia. Huggins has averaged 23.6 wins per season, including 25.6 his last 15 years. On April 5, 2007, he accepted an offer to return to coach his alma mater of West Virginia University. After leading the Mountaineers to a Sweet 16 appearance, Huggins signed an 11-year contract with the university after the season ended.

Throughout the years he has worked for various... promotions, including Beyond Wrestling, Firestormpro, Ring of Honor, Full Impact Pro, IWA-Mid South, Pro Wrestling Guerrilla, Big Japan Pro Wrestling, and Combat Zone Wrestling. Summers is well known for his willingness to participate in a creative and dangerous mix of hardcore wrestling, deathmatches, and brawls, as well as his appearance in the 2008 film The Wrestler. In 1998, Summers made his professional wrestling debut after teaming with Aaron White to take on Victor Pain and Canyon. Summers, enlisted in the United States Army, continued to work small independent shows across Texas as "Michael Van Slyck", later changed to Sanders. On March 16, 1999, as Necro Butcher, he won his first professional wrestling championship, after defeating Damon Richards to become IHW Hardcore champion. Butcher's popularity continued to dominate Texas wrestling, and at his debut in TCW, he defeated rival Jay Diego to become the company's Hardcore champion. His success in TCW came to a halt after a dispute with its promoter.

Elizabeth McLaughlin is an American actress. She is best known for playing Massie Block in The Clique. She also played Lindsay in Ugly Betty in one... episode . Elizabeth McLaughlin was born in Morgantown, West Virginia. When she was three years old, her family moved to Zephyrhills, Florida. McLaughlin recalls Zephyrhills as being a very small town where everyone knew everyone. Throughout her childhood she was constantly performing, and hanging out with kids way older than she was. Until about 6th grade, she was a tomboy. She said she preferred climbing rocks and exploring woods rather than playing with Barbies . She was always an enthusiastic young girl, who always dreamed of bigger things. McLaughlin spent most of her childhood in Florida until she moved to Los Angeles during her high school years. McLaughlin appeared on Ugly Betty as Lindsay. She is currently starring in the movie series The Clique. She played Massie Block. She currently has no other shows or movies. McLaughlin has a dog who is 1/2 Labrador, 1/4 Chow, and 1/4 Husky pure mutt.
