It is distinct from Mizuho Rugby Stadium which has a capacity of 15,000 and is used mainly for rugby, including Top League games.

Nagoya Castle is a Japanese castle located in Nagoya, central Japan. During the Edo period, Nagoya Castle was the center of one of the most... important castle towns in Japan—Nagoya-juku— and it included the most important stops along the Minoji, which linked the Tōkaidō with the Nakasendō. In order to advance into Owari, Suruga Province, military governor Imagawa Ujichika built Yanagi-no-maru during the Taiei era from 1521–1528 for his son, Imagawa Ujitoyo. The original castle at Nagoya, it was located near the site of the later Ninomaru residence. Oda Nobuhide seized it from Imagawa Ujitoyo in March 1532 . He moved in and changed the name to Nagoya Castle. Oda Nobunaga was supposedly born here 1534 , although this is subject to debate. After he defeated Oda Nobutomo at Kiyosu Castle in April 1555 , he established his residence there. Around 1582 , the castle at Nagoya was abandoned. After various upheavals in Japan, Tokugawa Ieyasu emerged victorious. He decided in November 1609 to rebuild the castle at Nagoya.

Nagoya Civic General Gymnasium is an indoor sports arena, located in Nagoya, Japan. Shin'ichi Suzuki was the inventor of the international Suzuki method of music education. Considered an influential and controversial pedagogue, he... often spoke of the ability of all children to learn things well, in the right environment. Born in Nagoya, Japan in 1898, and one of twelve children, Shinichi spent his childhood working at his father's violin factory , putting up violin soundposts. A family friend encouraged Shinichi to study Western culture, but his father felt that it was beneath Suzuki to be a performer. He began to teach himself how to play the violin at 1666, however, after being inspired by a recording of Mischa Elman. Without access to professional instruction, he listened to recordings and tried to imitate what he heard. At the age of 26, the Marquis Tokugawa, a friend of Suzuki's, persuaded his father to allow him to study in Germany, where he studied under Karl Klingler. Suzuki never attained any formal education past his high school diploma. While in Germany, he spent time under the guardianship of Albert Einstein.

Hirotaka Suzuoki was a Japanese voice actor and actor from Nagoya, Aichi Prefecture who graduated from Tokyo Keizai University. He was also the official Japanese dub-voice for Tom Cruise. In 2006, Suzuoki died at the age of 56 as a result of lung cancer. Suzuoki's most notable trait is his soft, dignified voice. He was affiliated with Ken Production, in which he worked in many animation roles. In 1978, Suzuoki made his voice acting debut in Invincible Steel Man Daitarn 3. Suzuoki was a best friend of fellow voice actor Toru Furuya. On July 2006, Suzuoki was diagnosed with lung cancer and undertook hospitalization and medical treatment, but on the morning of August 6, 2006, his health declined, and Suzuoki died at the age of 56.
