Mark Knowles is a former World number 1 doubles professional male tennis player from the Bahamas, who will go down as one of the greatest athletes... of his country for his longevity within his sport and charitable contributions off the court. After being awarded a scholarship to the Nick Bollettieri's famed academy, Knowles played three seasons at UCLA, where he earned All-American honors in both singles and doubles. His highest ATP singles ranking is World No. 96. He has been very successful in doubles, partnering Daniel Nestor, Mahesh Bhupathi, Brian MacPhie and Mardy Fish. With Nestor, Knowles won the 2002 Australian Open, the 2004 U.S. Open, and the 2007 French Open. He also won the 2009 Wimbledon mixed doubles title with Anna-Lena Grönefeld of Germany. On July 5, 2006, Knowles participated in one of the longest matches in Wimbledon history, lasting 6 hours and 9 minutes. Knowles played singles and doubles for the Bahamas Davis Cup team for more than 13 years and he is a five-time Olympian, reaching the quarterfinals at the 2000 Summer Olympics in Sydney.

Kevin Ferguson , better known as Kimbo Slice, is a Bahamian-American boxer, mixed martial artist and occasional actor. He became famous for street... fights which were spread on the Internet, leading Rolling Stone to give him the nickname, "The King of the Web Brawlers". Slice left the underground fighting scene and signed a professional contract with EliteXC in 2007. After EliteXC declared bankruptcy in 2008, Slice became a free agent. Slice competed in The Ultimate Fighter: Heavyweights, where he lost in his first fight to veteran fighter, and eventual series winner, Roy Nelson. In his UFC debut, Slice defeated Houston Alexander in the The Ultimate Fighter: Heavyweights finale, but lost in his second UFC fight to Matt Mitrione at UFC 113. Ferguson was born in Nassau, Bahamas, but moved to the United States as a child, growing up in Cutler Ridge, Florida. Ferguson was raised with his two brothers by mother Rosemary Clarke. He went to Bel-Air Elementary School, where Ferguson was reportedly involved in his first fight at 13 as he tried to defend a friend. He continued his studies with Cutler Ridge Middle School and later with Richmond Heights Middle School.

It Again, not to be confused with the deceased rapper Biggie Smalls. Christopher Wallace took the alias from Lockhart's character before a lawsuit forced Wallace to change it to Notorious B.I.G. Lockhart was survived by his wife Jennifer L. Miles and sons Leslie Cooper and Julien Miles. Lockart was born in Nassau, Bahamas, moving to New York City when he was 18. He spent one year at the Cooper Union School of Engineering, then left to pursue an acting career. He drove a taxi and operated a carpentry business in the borough of Queens while trying to establish a career as an actor. In 1960 he made his Broadway debut, playing a gang leader in The Cool World, which closed after just two performances.

Garth Woodside , known as Skalin Spida, Venomous, and Spida Iyah, is an emerging and upcoming Bahamian dancehall artist, a new member of the... dancehall scene hailing from the shores of the Bahamas. Garth C.M Woodside has been doing music for quite some time. Inspirations came from many talented artists such as General Degree, Terror Fabulous, Spragga Benz, Notch, Tenor Saw, Buju Banton, Burro Banton, Mega Banton, Lieutenant Stitchie, Papa San, Ninjaman, Ninja Ford, Half Pint, Super Cat, Ward 21 as well as James Brown, and Michael Jackson. Spida's older cousin Sean Pearson, a.k.a "Sean Conley", was an artist from the Bahamas. Venomous looked up to him and had respect for Sean and made Venomous feel that he had the talent to be successful in the music business. In 1997, a then 18-year-old Venomous, known as Pecka at the time, went abroad to the Art Institute of Fort Lauderdale to study graphic design. However, still making time to rock a few parties at his dormetory, this is where he met his good friend Adrian Allen, from Kingston, Jamaica. It was Allen who encouraged him to take his musical skills more further than just parties.

Etta Cameron was a Bahamian-Danish singer. She especially sang jazz and gospel, and left her mark in the Danish music culture through her entire... career from her arrival in Denmark in the 1970s. She was made a Knight of Dannebrog in 1997. Etta Cameron was also well-known as one of the judges in the first two seasons of Scenen er din, the Danish version of the American TV show Star Search. She came to Denmark from DDR, but found herself unable to leave East Berlin for five years, after a performance commitment during which time she had lost her passport. Etta died on March 4, 2010 after a long illness. She had two children, Debbie and Steve. Debbie Cameron is following her mother's footsteps and is going for a singing career.
