He served as the 41st Vice President of the United States , serving under President Gerald Ford, and the 49th Governor of New York . He also served the Franklin Roosevelt, Harry Truman and Dwight Eisenhower administrations in a variety of positions. A member of the Rockefeller family, he was also a noted art collector.
