Tihar Prisons , also called Tihar Jail and Tihar Ashram , is the largest complex of prisons in South Asia. It is located at Tihar village,... approximately 7 km from Chanakya Puri, to the west of New Delhi, India. The surrounding area is called Hari Nagar. The prison is maintained as a Correctional Institution. Its main objective is to convert its inmates into normal members of the society by providing them with useful skills, education and rules. It is meant to improve the inmates' self-esteem and strengthen their desire to improve. Items manufactured by the inmates bear the brand Tihar.As of November 2006, Tihar jail has almost 12,000 inmates against the sanctioned capacity of 5,200. Originally it was a maximum security prison run by the State of Punjab. In 1966 control was transferred to the National Capital Territory of Delhi. Beginning in 1984 additional facilities were constructed, and it became the Tihar Prison.

The Fort served as the seat of his power during his campaigns to enlarge his territory. Due to frequent Mongol invasions of West Asia, the Saljuqs took asylum in Delhi. The craftsmen of Seljuq dynasty are credited with this era's architectural monuments in Delhi.

Dhyan Chand National Stadium commonly known by its former name, National Stadium is a field hockey stadium at New Delhi, India. It originally held... 25,000 people. It is named after former Indian field hockey player, Dhyan Chand. It served as the venue for the 1st Asian Games in 1951. The stadium was built in 1933 as a gift for Delhi from the Maharaja of Bhavnagar, it was originally multipurpose stadium and named the Irwin Amphitheatre. It was designed by Anthony S. DeMillo and opened by Lord Willingdon. As per the original plans of architect of New Delhi Edwin Lutyens there was to be garden at the site, to provided a clear view of the historic Purana Quila in the backdrop, as it lay perpendicular to the axis beginning from Rashtrapati Bhavan through Rajpath and ending at the India Gate, his plans were however over ruled. It was renamed National Stadium before the 1951 Asian Games, Dhyan Chand's name was added in 2002. The Dhyan Chand Stadium was the host venue for the 2010 Men's Hockey World Cup. It was also the hockey venue of the 2010 Commonwealth Games. The stadium underwent a major reconstruction project before the Hockey World Cup 2010.
