Ryan James Anderson is an American professional basketball player for the Orlando Magic. Anderson previously played the power forward position at University of California, Berkeley. On April 3, 2008, Anderson declared himself eligible for the 2008 NBA Draft. He did not take an agent, leaving... himself the option to return to Cal if he withdrew his name from the draft before June 16. On June 26, 2008 Anderson was drafted #21 overall by the New Jersey Nets in the first round of the NBA Draft. Ryan Anderson attended Oak Ridge High School in El Dorado Hills, California. In 2005, Anderson helped lead the Trojans to the Division II California State Championship, defeating Mater Dei High School. The game was held at Arco Arena in Sacramento, CA. In college, Anderson emerged as the University of California, Berkeley's best player, and he led the Pacific-10 Conference in scoring in the 2007–2008 season, averaging 21.6 points per game . Although California failed to reach the NCAA men's basketball tournament, they did receive a National Invitational Tournament bid.

Sean Williams is an American basketball player. He is a forward / center and a highly athletic shot blocker. Sean Williams grew up in suburban Arlington, Texas with his mother and stepfather, Audrey and Lawrence Garrett, and his two siblings: Myles and Brea Garrett. His father, Roland Williams,... lives in Houston, Texas. He did not play organized basketball until he was 15 years old. He became a local standout in community leagues and eventually began playing basketball for Mansfield High School in Mansfield, Texas. As a member of the Boston College basketball team, Williams began his career as a standout in the paint. He functioned as an intimidating shot-blocking force for his team. Some basketball games were dubbed the "Sean Williams Block Party." Despite having never played an entire season for Boston College, Williams left the university as a leading shot blocker in the Big East and ACC, respectively during each of his Boston College seasons. Williams was dismissed from the Boston College basketball team during his junior year, after having been suspended twice during his 3-year college basketball career.

Marcus Darrell Williams is an American professional basketball player. In the 2006 NBA Draft, he was the 22nd player selected in the 1st round. Prior to joining the NBA, he played for the University of Connecticut Huskies men's basketball team. Williams attended and played for Crenshaw High School... in Los Angeles for his 9th, 10th, and 11th years, and transferred to Oak Hill Academy for his 12th year . During his freshman year at UConn, Williams was suspended for part of the season because of poor grades. As a sophomore in the 2004–2005 season, Williams averaged 9.6 points and 7.8 assists a game. He was named Big East Most Improved Player. In his junior year, he was kicked off the men's basketball team for several months, for attempting to sell stolen laptop computers along with teammate A. J. Price. Williams averaged 12.3 points, 8.6 assists, and shot 86% from the free throw line. In a game against Notre Dame, he recorded the sixth triple-double in UConn history with 18 points, 13 assists and 10 rebounds. In the 2006 NCAA tourney, he averaged 20 points, 8.

They play their home games at Quicken Loans Arena. The Cavaliers first began play in the NBA in 1970 as an expansion team under the ownership of Nick Mileti. The father of Major League Baseball pitcher Brett Tomko, Jerry Tomko, submitted the winning entry to name the team the "Cavaliers" through a competition sponsored by the The Plain Dealer, supporters preferred it to "Jays", "Foresters" and "Presidents". Playing their home games at Cleveland Arena under the direction of head coach Bill Fitch, they compiled a league-worst 15–67 record. The team hoped to build around the number one 1971 draft pick Austin Carr who had set numerous scoring records at Notre Dame, but Carr severely injured his leg shortly into his pro career and never was able to realize his potential. The following seasons saw the Cavaliers gradually improve their on-court performance, thanks to season-by-season additions of talented players such as Bingo Smith, Jim Chones, Jim Cleamons and Dick Snyder.

The Indiana Pacers began play in 1967 as members of the American Basketball Association , in which they won three championships and created a dynasty. In 1976, the Pacers moved from the ABA to the NBA. The financial strains from the move led to the ending of the Indiana dynasty and the beginnings of many struggles for the Pacers organization in the subsequent decade. The acquisition of Reggie Miller in 1987 marked the start of a long resurgence for the franchise that peaked with its appearance in the 2000 NBA Finals. However, since then the Pacers have not seen much playoff success, and even experienced a four-season playoff drought from 2007 to 2010 before making the playoffs again in 2011 and 2012.
