Nice

The St Nicholas Orthodox Cathedral, Nice is a Christian Orthodox cathedral, and a national monument of France, located in the city of Nice. Opened... in 1912, thanks to the generosity of Russia's Tsar Nicholas II, it is the largest Orthodox cathedral in Western Europe. From 1931 until 15th December 2011, the parish that occupied the cathedral was part of the Patriarchal Exarchate for Orthodox Parishes of Russian Tradition in Western Europe under the jurisdiction of the Church of Constantinople. Since the mid-19th century, Russian nobility visited Nice and the French Riviera, following the fashion established decades earlier by the English upper class and nobility. In 1864, immediately after the railway reached Nice, Tsar Alexander II visited by train and was attracted by the pleasant climate. Thus began an association between Russians and the French Riviera that continues to this day.

Céline Carzo is a French singer who represented Luxembourg in the Eurovision Song Contest 1990. A native of Nice, Céline Carzo was 17 years... old when she performed "Quand je te rêve" as her entry in the Contest, which was held in the Croatian capital, Zagreb, then a part of Yugoslavia. Carzo was born in 1972 and at the age of 17 entered the Conservatory of Nice. Her performance of "Quand je te rêve" was heard by Orlando, the brother of the legendary singer Dalida who suggested the song as Luxembourg's Eurovision entry for 1990.

He just walked in and thought it was a store. And he started picking up the glasses, those yellow glasses, and was looking at them, because we were on the main street of Garrison New York, which is where all the flea markets are, inside these big barns. In our case, it was an office. He thought it was a store. I tried to tell him because he was near me, and Ann hadn't seen him yet. And I said, 'this isn't a store. This is a fitting for a movie.' And he just thought I was a guy in the store trying to get rid of him. And so he wasn't paying attention to me. And Ann turned around and said, 'this is my fitting! Who are you?' And he said, 'Hi, Thadeus Thomas, Yellow Pages.' And the way he said that, I just thought, 'Oh my God -- he's still going!' And he seemed to want to figure out who was the owner of the store because he was going to sell ad space. And I said, 'this guy's got to be in It". Thadeus is member of the Screen Actors Guild and has worked extensively in the corporate world as district manager for ADP, senior account manager of Yellow Book USA, advertising executive with Gannett, home of USA Today. While in the United States Marine Corps and NATO he has lived in Spain, Italy and France .He is also a Real Estate Broker.

Jenifer Bartoli was raised with her younger brother Jonathan, by her mother and father, Michel Dadouche and Christine Bartoli. She participated in the Graines de star television broadcast in 1997, but this was a failure. Jenifer decided to go to Paris and attend the casting for the first series of Star Academy in France, which went on to become a huge hit on French television. She was selected, and eventually won. The hit single "J'attends L'amour" soon followed. After the tour with her band that followed her victory, she went on the road as a solo artist from October 2002 until January 2003, and eventually performed at the Paris Olympia, which she had dreamed of as a child.

Masumi Okada was a professional actor, singer, stand-up comedian, and film producer. Also known by his nickname, "Fanfan", he was born in Nice,... France, to a Japanese father, Minoru Okada, who was an artist, and a Danish mother, Ingeborg Sevaldsen, who was the sister of Eline Eriksen, the model for the "Mermaid of Copenhagen" and wife of the statue's sculptor, Edvard Eriksen. Masumi Okada was the younger of two sons; his older brother, Taibi "Erick" Okada, was also an actor and presenter—known professionally as E. H. Eric, he was the emcee for the Beatles' 1966 concert in Tokyo. Masumi Okada spent the first four years of his life in France before relocating to Japan in 1939. He received his education under his Western name, Otto Sevaldsen, at Saint Joseph International School in the city of Yokohama in Kanagawa prefecture, graduating in 1955. In 1952, while still a student at SJIS, Okada debuted as an actor in a musical at the Nichigeki Music Hall. He signed with Nikkatsu Corporation in 1954, appearing in his first film, "Hatsukoi Kanariya Musume"/"Canary Girl's First Love", the following year.
