The Normal Theater is a cinema located in the downtown area of Normal, Illinois of the United States of America, which is located in McLean County.... The theater closed for a time in the early 1990s but reopened in 1993 after being purchased and renovated by the town of Normal. It has since been in continuous operation, showing a mix of first run and classic films. The building is on the National Register of Historic Places and has been since July 25, 1997. The Normal Theater opened for operation in November 1937. The Streamline Moderne building was a state of the art cinema at the time which was built to "show sound movies in the best comfortable environment." The original commercial operation of the Normal Theater ended in May 1990 after it had been divided into a two screen theater a few years prior. The Town of Normal purchased the theater and reopened it in 1993 through a community restoration effort. Today theater goers enjoy a "throwback" theater going experience in the fully restored art deco theater.

John W. Cook Hall, or Cook Hall, is a building which resembles a castle on the Quad of Illinois State University in Normal, Illinois. Cook Hall,... named for the university's fourth president, has been listed on the National Register of Historic Places since the winter of 1986. Cook Hall is one of "Altgeld's castles": it was designed toward the end of the administration of Illinois Governor John Peter Altgeld. Altgeld was a German native who favored Gothic Revival architecture. The building's original purpose was "Gymnasium". It was eventually converted for other uses as larger gyms were constructed on campus. It currently houses the School of Music.

Sprague's Super Service is a historic independent gas station on Route 66 in Normal, Illinois. A Tudor revival building constructed in 1931 by... William Sprague to house a service station, restaurant and garage, it is the largest of three remaining two-storey fuel station buildings on US 66, originally housing a café and service station on the main floor plus two second-floor apartments for the owner and the station attendant. As Pine Street is part of a largely-residential neighbourhood, the station was designed to fit with its surroundings by having the building follows the architectural conventions of a private residence. While additions were made to the station in 1948 and 1967 the original building's design has been left largely intact. The last fuel was dispensed in 1971 and the pumps removed by 1979. The building then served as a storefront for various businesses including Joe’s Welding and Boiler Company, Corn Belt Manufacturing, Yellow Cab and Avis Rent-a-Car.

Ellen Crawford is an American actress. Most recently, she co-starred as Edith, in The Man from Earth. She also played Nurse Lydia Wright on ER from... 1994–2003 and then again in 2009 for the series finale. She has performed on stage as well, most recently as Nora Melody in "A Touch of the Poet" by Eugene O'Neil, for Friendly Fire Theatre in New York City. Crawford was born in Normal, Illinois, graduated from Carnegie Mellon University's college of Fine Arts in 1975. She is married to Mike Genovese. Art imitated life for the couple. On ER, Genovese portrayed officer Alfred Grabarsky, who Nurse Wright wed during the show's third season. Currently she is performing on stage at the Utah Shakespeare Festival, in Cedar City Utah. She is Mrs Bennett in Pride and Prejudice and Miss Havisham in Great Expectations.
