Grove Hill Mansion is a historic mansion at Florence Road and Front Street in Northampton, Massachusetts. The mansion was built in 1880 and added to... the National Historic Register in 1982. The large, brick residence at the top of Grove Hill in the village of Leeds was built in 1880 for Lucius Dimock, the director of the Nonotuck Silk Company. Not coincidentally, it bears a striking resemblance to the company’s factory were designed in 1879 by architect E. C. Gardner. Gardner, a resident of Ashfield, Massachusetts, began his architectural practice in Florence at the age of 22. It is assumed he was a student of the prolific Northampton architect W.F. Pratt. Following the Civil War, Gardner moved to Springfield and maintained a practice there until 1911. The interior of the Dimock mansion reveals the influence of Charles Locke Eastlake, author of Hints on Houshold Taste published in 1872. Eastlake emphasized superb craftsmanship and the use of cherry and oak woods which remain unpainted to reveal their natural grain.

Talisa Soto is an American model and actress. Born Miriam Soto in Brooklyn, New York, Soto is the youngest of four children born to parents of... Puerto Rican descent. Her parents later relocated to Northampton, Massachusetts where Soto and her siblings were raised and educated. At the age of 15, Soto signed with Click Model Management and began modeling during summer vacations. Weeks after being signed, she traveled to Paris where she appeared in a layout for Vogue shot by Bruce Weber. She returned to Northampton after the summer to resume her schooling and would continue to model on occasion until she graduated from high school. She later appeared on the covers of American and British Vogue, British Elle, Mademoiselle, Glamour and Self magazines. She also appeared in her first music video with former boyfriend Nick Kamen, Madonna's "Each Time You Break My Heart", directed by Tony Viramontes. Soto and Kamen were often used as models by Ray Petri: the late fashion stylist and creator of the 80's London "Buffalo Boy" look.

Chris Pureka is an American acoustic singer-songwriter from Northampton, Massachusetts. Raised in Connecticut, she began writing songs at the age of... eight and began playing the guitar at 16. She soon became a frequent performer at local coffee houses and open mics. As a young performer, she opened shows for such artists as Erin McKeown and Pamela Means while completing a degree in biology at Wesleyan University. After graduating, she worked in a microbiology research lab at Smith College in Northampton, eventually leaving to focus on her music full-time. In June 2001, she recorded a self-titled seven-song EP in preparation for a three-month nationwide tour with lesbian folk poet Alix Olson. The EP, which was home-recorded in two weeks and featured her playing back-up accompaniment on the mandolin and bass, was later mastered and reprinted for her 2005 summer tour. In 2004, Pureka released Driving North, her first full-length album, earning rave reviews from fans and fellow artists alike. In 2006, she released Dryland, and toured the US a second time as a headlining act. The album received rave reviews and was featured on the Paste Magazine Sampler in February 2007.

Kacy Crowley is an American musician and singer-songwriter. A New England native, she currently resides in Austin, Texas. Born in Northampton,... Massachusetts, her mother was a piano teacher and her father was a construction worker. Her family soon relocated to Connecticut, where Kacy remained until graduating from high school. Her parent's passion for music influenced her from an early age. She started playing the guitar soon after seeing John Denver in concert at age 5. She also began taking piano lessons around that time. After graduating high school, she attended the University of Massachusetts for one semester before dropping out. At 19 she moved out to Los Angeles to try to jumpstart her music career. She played in coffeehouses in and around the Los Angeles area. After two years in Los Angeles, she was struggling with a drug habit and moved back into her parents' house in Connecticut. With her life back together, she started a band, Tragic Sam, and produced a few sessions with Billy Rush, the former guitarist for Southside Johnny & The Asbury Jukes. She moved to New York City around 1992 and tried forming a few ensemble groups, without much success.

Stephen Dunne was an American actor. He was active on television and in films from 1945 to 1973 and was also credited as Steve Dunn, Michael Dunne,... Stephan Dunne, and Steve Dunne. He also had roles on radio at several times, including as the voice of private eye Sam Spade in The Adventures of Sam Spade from 1950 to 1951. In the 1960-1961 season, he and Mark Roberts played private detective brothers in the syndicated television series The Brothers Brannagan. In addition, he played roles on screen, including Uncle Willis Reynolds in Junior Miss, Professor Stewart in The Return of October, Steve Carter in The Crime Doctor's Diary, Dr. Thomas Wilson in Professional Father, Dan Howell in 'The Millionaire, Tim Tyler in Batman, and newsreader Stanley Kael in Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory. His final role on screen was as a TV moderator in Superdad. He hosted or guest-hosted 4 game shows including "Truth Or Consequences" and "Double Exposure". He died on September 2, 1977, aged 59.
