John Thomas Chain, Jr. is a retired U.S. Air Force General. He is also a director of R.J. Reynolds Tobacco Company, ConAgra Foods, Inc., and Kemper... Insurance Co., as well as holding other corporate offices. Chain was born in Wilmington, Delaware and attended high school at Fork Union Military Academy. He earned a bachelor of arts degree in history in 1956 and was awarded an honorary doctorate in humane letters in 1990, both from Denison University. While at Denison University, General Chain was a member of the Sigma Alpha Epsilon Fraternity. In 1971 he graduated from the National War College and concurrently earned a master's degree in international affairs from George Washington University. John Chain had a wide and varied military career, serving in a number of powerful positions. He accrued over 5,000 flying hours in more than 45 different military aircraft. He is a master parachutist with 66 jumps, and has been awarded the Defense Distinguished Service Medal, the Legion of Merit, the Distinguished Flying Cross, and the Bronze Star.

Victor Herbert Fazio, Jr. usually known as Vic Fazio is a former Democratic congressman from California. Fazio was born to a family of New England... Yankee and Italian-American heritage in Winchester, Massachusetts. After graduating from Madison High School in Madison, NJ in 1960, Fazio attended Williston Academy in Easthampton, Massachusetts in 1961. He earned a B.A. from Union College in Schenectady, New York in 1965, and did graduate work at California State University in Sacramento, California from 1969 to 1972. From 1965-1966 he was a Coro Foundation Fellow in Los Angeles. Fazio was a congressional and legislative consultant from 1966 to 1975, during which time he co-founded California Journal magazine in 1970. He served on the Sacramento County Charter Commission from 1972 to 1974, on the Sacramento County Planning Commission in 1975, and as a member of the California State Assembly from 1975 to 1978. Fazio was a delegate to California state Democratic conventions in 1976 and 1978, and was a delegate to Democratic National Conventions of 1976, 1980, 1984, 1988, 1992 and 1996.

Phil A. Odeen is a member of the board of directors at Northrop Grumman. He holds many other corporate and government positions. Odeen graduated Phi... Beta Kappa from the University of South Dakota in 1957. He was a Fulbright Scholar to the United Kingdom, and earned a Master's degree in 1959 from the University of Wisconsin–Madison. He soon became involved in politics. He served in senior positions under the Nixon administration as staff for the Secretary of Defense and the National Security Council. He was Principal Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense, and worked directly under Henry Kissinger. From 1972 to 1978 Odeen was Vice President of Wilson Sporting Goods. Odeen was a managing partner of Coopers & Lybrand from 1978 to 1991, and then became vice chair of their management consulting services until 1992. He then became president and CEO of BDM International, where he tripled the value of the company in five years. In 1997, Secretary of Defense William Cohen selected Odeen to chair the National Defense Panel. Also in 1997 the TRW corporation acquired BDM, and Odeen became executive vice president and general manager of Information Technology at TRW.
