Jerome is a town in Yavapai County, Arizona, United States. According to 2006 Census Bureau estimates, the population of the town is 353. The presence of silver and copper has been known in the area around what is now Jerome since the Spanish colonial era when Arizona was part of New Spain. A... mining town named Jerome was established on the side of Cleopatra Hill in 1883. It was named for Eugene Murray Jerome, a New York investor who owned the mineral rights and financed mining there. Eugene Jerome never visited his namesake town. Jerome was incorporated as a town on March 8, 1899. Local merchant and rancher William Munds was the first mayor. The town housed the workers in the nearby United Verde Mine, which was to produce over 1 billion dollars in copper, gold and silver over the next 70 years. Jerome became a notorious "wild west" town, a hotbed of prostitution, gambling, and vice. On 5 February 1903, the New York Sun proclaimed Jerome to be "the wickedest town in the West". In 1915 the population of Jerome was estimated at 2,500. Starting in May 1917 there was a series of miners strikes, in part organized by the Industrial Workers of the World .

Monument Valley is a region of the Colorado Plateau characterized by a cluster of vast sandstone buttes, the largest reaching 1,000 ft above the valley floor. It is located on the Arizona-Utah state line , near the Four Corners area. The valley lies within the range of the Navajo Nation... Reservation, and is accessible from U.S. Highway 163. The area is part of the Colorado Plateau. The floor is largely siltstone of the Cutler Formation, or sand derived from it, deposited by the meandering rivers that carved the valley. The valley's vivid red color comes from iron oxide exposed in the weathered siltstone. The darker, blue-gray rocks in the valley get their color from manganese oxide. The buttes are clearly stratified, with three principal layers. The lowest layer is Organ Rock shale, the middle de Chelly sandstone and the top layer is Moenkopi shale capped by Shinarump siltstone. The valley includes large stone structures including the famed Eye of the Sun.

Page is a city in Coconino County, Arizona, United States, near the Glen Canyon Dam and Lake Powell. As of the 2010 census, the population of the city was 7,247. Page is located at 36°54′51″N 111°27′35″W / 36.91417°N 111.45972°W /... 36.91417; -111.45972 . According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 16.6 square miles , of which 16.6 square miles is land and 0.04 square miles , or 0.12%, is water. Page has an arid climate with hot, very dry summers and chilly winters with very little snow. Its very low rainfall is due to the rain shadow on the more southerly Arizona mountains blocking Pacific moisture, so that it receives even less rainfall than Phoenix and less than a third as much as Flagstaff. As of the census of 2000, there were 6,809 people, 2,342 households, and 1,779 families residing in the city. The population density was 410.5 inhabitants per square mile . There were 2,606 housing units at an average density of 157.1 per square mile .
