Fernando Vargas is a retired Mexican American boxer and two-time world champion, who won a bronze medal as an amateur at the 1995 Pan American Games... in Mar del Plata. His nicknames include "Ferocious", "The Aztec Warrior" and "El Feroz". Vargas was the youngest fighter to become world light middleweight champion until fellow Mexican Saul Alvarez won the vacant WBC belt in March 2011. Some of Fernando's notable wins include victories over former world champions Raúl Márquez, Ike Quartey and Winky Wright. His losses to Félix Trinidad, Oscar De La Hoya, Shane Mosley and Ricardo Mayorga remain his only career defeats and he is a favorite of American cable TV giant HBO. Fernando is very good friends with Julio César Chávez; Chavez has been part of Vargas' ring entourage in at least two fights . Chavez was also present when Vargas proposed to his wife Martha Lopez Vargas. Vargas was born in Oxnard, California. In his youth, Vargas trained by Eduardo Garcia at the popular La Colonia Youth Boxing Club in the Colonia neighborhood of Oxnard.

John Carradine was an American actor, best known for his roles in horror films and Westerns as well as Shakespearean theater. A member of Cecil B... DeMille's stock company and later John Ford's company, he was one of the most prolific character actors in Hollywood history. He was married several times, had several children and was the patriarch of an acting dynasty. It includes four of his sons and four of his grandchildren. John Carradine was born in the Greenwich Village section of New York City, the son of Genevieve Winifred , a surgeon, and William Reed Carradine, a correspondent for the Associated Press. William Carradine was the son of evangelical author Beverly Carradine. The family lived in Peekskill and Kingston, New York. William died from tuberculosis when John was two years old. John's mother remarried "a Philadelphia paper manufacturer named Peck, who thought the way to bring up someone else's boy was to beat him every day just on general principle." John attended the Christ Church School in Kingston.

Walter Brennan was an American actor. Brennan won the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor on three separate occasions, which is currently the... record for most wins. Born in Lynn, Massachusetts less than two miles from his family's home in Swampscott, Walter Andrew Brennan was the second of three children born to Irish immigrants William John Brennan and Margaret Elizabeth Flanagan. The elder Brennan was an engineer and inventor, and young Walter studied engineering at Rindge Technical High School in Cambridge, Massachusetts. While in school, Brennan became interested in acting, and began to perform in vaudeville. While working as a bank clerk, he enlisted in the U.S. Army and served as a private with the 101st Field Artillery Regiment in France during World War I. Following the war, he moved to Guatemala and raised pineapples, before settling in Los Angeles. During the 1920s, he became involved in the real estate market, where he made a fortune. Unfortunately, he lost most of his money when the market took a sudden downturn due to the Great Depression.

Combs was born in Oxnard, California and raised in Lompoc, California. He attended Santa Maria's Pacific Conservatory of the Performing Arts, and later developed his acting skills in the Professional Actor's Training Program at the University of Washington. After spending several years performing in playhouses all along the West Coast, Combs moved to Los Angeles in 1980 and landed his first role in the 1981 feature film, Honky Tonk Freeway, in which he played an unnamed drive-in teller. His first horror film role came two years later in the 1983 film Frightmare. Combs' best known horror role was as Dr. Herbert West, the main character in the movie Re-Animator, which he has reprised in the film's two sequels. He also portrayed the part of author H. P. Lovecraft in 1993's film Necronomicon: Book of the Dead. Combs has starred in eight H.P. Lovecraft adaptations.

Jaime Hernandez is the co-creator of the black & white independent comic book Love and Rockets . Jaime Hernandez grew up in Oxnard, California.... He is the youngest of his family, with four older brothers and one sister. His family embraced comics: their mother read them frequently and old issues were kept in large quantities in the house, to be read and re-read by all over the years. "We grew up with comics," Hernandez says. "I wanted to draw comics my whole life." The brothers read all types of comics and enjoyed those that gave a fairly realistic depiction of family life as well as the standard superhero adventures. Hernandez was particularly influenced by Hank Ketcham's Dennis the Menace and Dan DeCarlo's Archie' comics. The children in his otherwise rather realistic stories are often drawn to resemble Ketcham's, and Jaime's character's often strike very DeCarlo-esque poses. The work of Alex Toth, Charles Schulz, Jesse Marsh and Jack Kirby were also hugely influential. Hernandez has a lifelong fascination with pro wrestling, especially women's wrestling, and it has been a regular part of his work.

Kristal Marshall is an American model, beauty queen, and former professional wrestler best known for her work in World Wrestling Entertainment on... its SmackDown! brand and in Total Nonstop Action Wrestling promotion working as Kristal Lashley the kayfabe wife of Bobby Lashley and his real life girlfriend. Prior to working for World Wrestling Entertainment Marshall appeared as a competitor in the 2004 Miss California pageant, as a model for Deal or No Deal, in music videos for 50 Cent and Ma$e, in commercials for The Best Damn Sports Show Period, and was at one time a Barker Beauty on The Price Is Right. Marshall first entered WWE as a contestant in the 2005 Raw Diva Search, in which she eventually finished fourth. Despite not winning the Diva Search contract, Marshall was signed to a development deal soon after the contest finished and sent to Deep South Wrestling, WWE newest "farm territory" at that time. In December 2005, she joined the SmackDown! roster as a backstage correspondent, interviewing the brand's superstars during the shows. Her first actual feud on the brand came against the heel run of Jillian Hall.

Dave Carter was an American folk singer-songwriter who described his style as "post-modern mythic American folk music." He was one half of the duo... Dave Carter and Tracy Grammer, who were heralded as the new "voice of modern folk music" in the months before Carter's unexpected death in July 2002. Otis Jackson Jr. in Oxnard, California, known professionally as Madlib, is a Los Angeles-based DJ, multi-instrumentalist, rapper, and music... producer. Known under a plethora of pseudonyms, he is one of the most prolific and critically acclaimed hip hop producers of the 2000s and has collaborated with a myriad hip hop artists, including The Alkaholiks, Mos Def, De La Soul, Ghostface Killah, Talib Kweli, A.G., MF DOOM , and the late J Dilla . He is also the one man force behind the ensemble Jazz collective, Yesterdays New Quintet. Madlib has described himself as a "DJ first, producer second, and MC last," and he has done several projects as a DJ, mixer, or remixer. Madlib was born in Oxnard, California to musician parents Otis Jackson, Sr. and Dora Sinesca Jackson. He was raised in Oxnard, and currently works in Los Angeles. He began making music with the rap group Lootpack in the early 1990s.

Brandon Michael Knight is an American professional baseball player. A right-handed pitcher, Knight plays for the NEXEN Heroes in the Korea Baseball... Organization. Knight, who was selected by the Texas Rangers in the 1995 amateur draft, appeared in 11 major league games for the New York Yankees in 2001 and 2002. From 2003-2005, Knight played for Nippon Professional Baseball in Japan. He spent two years in Fukuoka, Japan playing for the Fukuoka Daiei Hawks and one year in Sapporo, Japan playing for the Nippon Ham Fighters. Upon returning to the United States, Knight signed and played in the Pittsburgh Pirates organization for the 2006 season. In 2007, Knight signed with the Somerset Patriots of the Atlantic League. Brett Jodie, the former Yankee pitcher, now the Patriots pitching coach noticed that Knight's release point was too high. After Knight modified his release point, his command and velocity improved.
