Paul Oakenfold

Planet Perfecto were a dance supergroup, formed in 1997 by Paul Oakenfold, Ian Masterson and Jake Williams. They were signed to Oakenfold's record... label, Perfecto Records. Their first release was "Georgie Girl" on 12" vinyl in 1997; the single did not make it into the UK Singles Chart. However, their next track, "Not Over Yet '99", was more successful entering the UK chart at #16 in August 1999. They worked with a fourth producer, Matt Darey on the track, a remix/re-edit of "Not Over Yet" by Grace to create the track, which was to be the first of four hits for the group. Oakenfold had previously been a member of Grace. Before forming Planet Perfecto, all three producers had made their names in the dance music scene under different guises. Most notably Jake Williams as JX and Masterson with Flexifinger. Paul Oakenfold was often viewed as being the main force behind "Planet Perfecto", but this is probably because he was more of a household name; being successful as a DJ and having hits under numerous guises. Planet Perfecto have not released any further material since 2001. All three producers have undertaken independent projects since that time.

Elementfour was a music producing duo made up of Paul Oakenfold and Andy Gray. They collaborated in writing and producing the tune as a theme song... for Big Brother. The single entitled "Big Brother UK TV Theme" became a hit in August and September 2000 reaching #4 on the UK British Singles Chart.

Maverick Recording Company is an American record label owned and operated by Warner Music Group, and distributed through Warner Bros. Records. Maverick Records was founded by Madonna, Frederick DeMann, Veronica "Ronnie" Dashev and Time Warner in April 1992 as part of the entertainment company,... Maverick. The name is combined from the names of the main founders Madonna Veronica and Frederick. It is bi-coastal, having offices in both New York City and Los Angeles. The record company division of Maverick consists of the label, Maverick Musica and Maverick Music . DeMann was bought out of the company for a reported $20 million in 1998, after which Guy Oseary increased his stake in the company and took control as Chairman and CEO. Maverick has had noted triumphs with acts such as Alanis Morissette, Michelle Branch, The Prodigy, Candlebox, Venezuelan pop-rock singer Douglas Vale and the band Deftones. The label also had success with soundtracks for The Wedding Singer, Jackie Brown and The Matrix. In addition, Quentin Tarantino’s A Band Apart imprint is distributed by Maverick.
