Peking University

The Guanghua School of Management of the Peking University is a business school in China. The School is staffed with about 100 full-time teaching... faculty members. About half of the faculty earned their Ph.D degrees from prestigious universities overseas. Some universities represented by recently recruited faculty members are Harvard, Oxford, Yale, University of California, Berkeley, Stanford, Carnegie Mellon, Brown, and Purdue. The School offers Undergraduate, Specialized Master and Doctoral programs, with a total enrollment of more than 3,000 students. Guanghua won first place as the most Influential MBA of China in a ranking conducted by the World Executive. In the 2009 QS Global 200 Business Schools Report the school was ranked 19th in the Asia Pacific region. In addition to full-time academic programs, the School also runs an EMBA program and MPAcc program, as well as several other non-degree Executive Development Programs.

Han Suyin is the pen name of Elizabeth Comber, born Rosalie Elisabeth Kuanghu Chow . She is a Chinese-born Eurasian author of several books on... modern China, novels set in East Asia, and autobiographical works, as well as a physician. She currently resides in Lausanne and has written in English and French. Han Suyin was born in Xinyang, Henan, China. Her father was a Belgian-educated Chinese engineer, Chow Yen Tung , of Hakka heritage, while her mother was Flemish. She began work as a typist at Beijing Hospital in 1931, not yet fifteen years old. In 1933 she was admitted to Yenching University where she felt she was discriminated against as a Eurasian. In 1935 she went to Brussels to study medicine. In 1938 she returned to China, married Tang Pao-Huang , a Chinese Nationalist military officer, who was to become a general, and worked as a midwife in an American Christian mission hospital in Chengdu, Sichuan.
