Kyle Jordan Drabek is an American Major League Baseball pitcher with the Toronto Blue Jays. He made his first major league start on September 15, 2010 against the Baltimore Orioles. He is the son of former major-league pitcher and 1990 National League Cy Young Award winner Doug Drabek. He also... wears a single-digit uniform number , a rarity amongst pitchers. Drabek attended The Woodlands High School. While there he was an Aflac, USA Today, and Louisville Slugger high-school All-American at pitcher and shortstop. Drabek was paired up on a Houston summer team with fellow Texas prospect and current Cincinnati Reds outfielder Jay Bruce. While in high school, Drabek was named 2005 and 2006 Texas 5-A player of the year. During the 2006 spring season, the Highlanders won the Texas 5-A State Championship. During his high-school career, Drabek compiled a record of 30-1 on the mound while belting 27 home runs. In the 2006 Texas regional semifinal, he set The Woodlands High School record for most strikeouts in a game by a pitcher , recording a no-hitter. He first wore his MLB number as a wide receiver on The Woodlands varsity football team.

Gregory Joseph Golson is an American professional baseball outfielder for the Kansas City Royals of Major League Baseball. Golson attended John Connally High School in Austin, Texas. The Philadelphia Phillies selected Golson from high school with the 21st overall pick in the first round of the... 2004 Major League Baseball Draft. After drafting him, the Phillies assigned Golson to their Gulf Coast League affiliate in the rookie leagues. He played in 47 games, accumulating a .295 batting average with eight doubles and five triples. He stole 12 bases, and struck out 54 times in 183 at-bats. Golson's speed became a feature of his game, and went on to steal over 100 bases in five minor-league seasons. In a 2008 interview, Golson said, regarding his success as a base-stealer, that "[you've] got to be real observant of what the pitcher is doing, if they fall into patterns, what the catcher is doing, the counts, the game situation—stuff like that  but speed is the big thing". In his second minor-league season, Golson was promoted to the A-level Lakewood BlueClaws in Lakewood, New Jersey.

However, he broke his pitching arm in his sophomore year, so teams, including the San Diego Padres, lost interest. Nonetheless, Hamels was drafted in the first round of the 2002 Major League Baseball Draft by the Philadelphia Phillies, who held the 17th overall selection. Hamels began his professional baseball career in 2003, pitching at Single-A Lakewood. Later that season, he was promoted to Class-A Advanced Clearwater.

He began the season with the Reading Phillies and did not allow any runs in his first 4 starts, allowing only 1 runner to make it past 2nd base. David Montgomery is the part-owner, general partner, president, and chief executive officer of the Philadelphia Phillies. As a child, Montgomery attended Phillies games at Connie Mack Stadium. Before attending college, Montgomery worked as a diaper delivery boy and a high school baseball coach.... Montgomery is a 1964 alumnus of the William Penn Charter School in Philadelphia and as an undergraduate attended the University of Pennsylvania where he was first a liberal arts major, and then a history major. Montgomery continued to attend Phillies games as a college student with future governor Ed Rendell, where he recalled "[trying] to eat all the food that $5 could buy as they shared their thoughts with the players". He also attended the Wharton Business School as a graduate student, graduating in 1970. During his tenure at Wharton, he also coached the linemen for the varsity football team at Germantown Academy.
