Since 1949 Academy of Television Arts & Sciences has given awards to television productions. Emmy Awards Outstanding Drama Series Prime Time award category is one of the “main awards” at the Emmys ceremonies. NBC is the network that mostly earns the awards. The most recent winner was AMC’s Mad Men in 2008.
