Trinity Repertory Company is a non-profit regional theater located in Providence, Rhode Island. The theater is a member of the League of Resident... Theatres. Founded in 1963, the theater is "one of the most respected regional theatres in the country". Featuring the last longstanding Resident Acting Company in the U.S., Trinity Rep presents a balance of world premiere, contemporary, and classic works, including an annual production of A Christmas Carol, for an estimated annual audience of 120,000. In its 47-year history, the theater has produced nearly 58 world premieres, mounted national and international tours and, through its MFA program, trained hundreds of new actors and directors. Project Discovery, Trinity Rep's pioneering educational outreach program launched in 1966, introduces over 15,000 Rhode Island, Massachusetts and Connecticut through matinees as well as in-school residencies and workshops . Trinity Rep was founded when a small group of Rhode Island citizens sought to create a professional resident theater company in Providence. The Rhode Island Convention Center is an exposition center in downtown Providence, RI. Built in 1994, it is the largest convention center in Rhode... Island, with about 130,000 square feet of exhibition space, including a 100,000-square-foot exhibit hall. It is connected to the Dunkin Donuts Center. It is also adjacent to the Westin Hotel Providence. It currently houses a mural painted by Jeffery Gutterman.

The Nightingale–Brown House is a National Historic Landmark at 357 Benefit Street in Providence, Rhode Island, United States, that is home to... the John Nicholas Brown Center for Public Humanities and Cultural Heritage at Brown University. In 1792 Captain Joseph Nightingale built the house. In 1814 Nicholas Brown, Jr. purchased the home. His descendants owned the house until the death of Anne S.K. Brown in 1985, at which point it was donated to Brown University. Architects Thomas Tefft and Richard Upjohn made additions in 1853 and 1864, respectively. Frederick Law Olmstead landscaped the grounds in 1890. The site was declared a National Historic Landmark in 1989. It is included in the College Hill Historic District.

The Governor Stephen Hopkins House, built in 1708, is a museum and National Historic Landmark in Providence, Rhode Island that was the home of... Stephen Hopkins, a governor of Rhode Island and signatory of the Declaration of Independence. Stephen Hopkins purchased the house in 1743 and made a large two story addition to the original house that was built in 1708. The house is now owned and managed by the National Society of the Colonial Dames of America. It was declared a National Historic Landmark in 1978.

Peter Yarrow is an American singer who found fame with the 1960s folk music trio Peter, Paul and Mary. Yarrow co-wrote one of the group's most... famous songs, "Puff, the Magic Dragon". He is also a political activist and has lent his support to causes that range from opposition to the Vietnam War to the creation of Operation Respect. Peter Yarrow was born in New York City, New York. He graduated from New York City's High School of Music and Art, which is now called LaGuardia High School. His singing career began after he graduated from Cornell University, in 1959. Soon, Yarrow met Noel "Paul" Stookey and Mary Travers in New York City's Greenwich Village, center of the mid-20th century American folk music revival. By 1962, Warner Bros. Records released the trio's first album, the eponymous Peter, Paul & Mary. The album remained in the Top Ten for ten months, in the Top Twenty for two years and sold more than two million copies. The group has toured extensively and recorded numerous albums, both live and in the studio. In October 1969, Yarrow married Mary Beth McCarthy of Willmar, Minnesota.

George Michael Cohan , known professionally as George M. Cohan, was a major American entertainer, playwright, composer, lyricist, actor, singer,... dancer and producer. Cohan began his career as a child, performing with his parents and sister in a vaudeville act known as "The Four Cohans." Beginning with Little Johnny Jones in 1904, he wrote, composed, produced, and appeared in more than three dozen Broadway musicals. Cohan wrote some 500 songs during his lifetime, including the standards "Over There", "Give My Regards to Broadway", "The Yankee Doodle Boy" and "You're a Grand Old Flag". As a composer, he was one of the early members of the American Society of Composers, Authors, and Publishers . He displayed remarkable theatrical longevity, appearing in films until the 1930s, and continuing to perform as a headline artist until 1940. Known in the decade before World War I as "the man who owned Broadway", he is considered the father of American musical comedy. His life and music were depicted in the Academy Award-winning film Yankee Doodle Dandy and the 1968 musical George M!.

She was the first woman and the second-youngest person to hold that position. Myers later co-hosted the news program Equal Time on CNBC, and was a consultant on The West Wing. In 2010, she became a managing director of public affairs at The Glover Park Group. Margaret Jane “Dee Dee” Myers was born in 1961 in Quonset Point, Rhode Island to Stephen and Judy Myers. She spent most of her formative years in Valencia, California. Her father was a Navy pilot who completed two tours of duty in the Vietnam War, and her mother worked as a real estate agent. Myers is a graduate of William S. Hart High School and Santa Clara University .

Lincoln Davenport Chafee is an American politician who has been the 74th Governor of Rhode Island since January 2011. Prior to his election as... governor, Chafee served in the United States Senate as a Republican from 1999 until losing his Senate re-election bid in 2006 to Democrat Sheldon Whitehouse. In 2007, he left the Republican Party and became an independent. He is the first independent to serve as Governor of Rhode Island since John Collins, who served 1786-1790. A Rhode Island native educated at Phillips Academy and Brown University, Chafee worked as a professional farrier for seven years before entering state politics in 1985. He was a delegate to the Rhode Island State Constitutional Convention, a member of the Warwick, Rhode Island city council, and later the mayor of Warwick. Chafee was appointed to the United States Senate in 1999 upon the death of his father, Senator John Chafee, and was elected in the 2000 Senate election for a full six-year term. Chafee was a supporter of Barack Obama's 2008 presidential bid and is currently a co-chair of Obama's re-election campaign.

Seth Woodbury MacFarlane is an American actor, voice actor, animator, screenwriter, comedian, producer, director and singer. He created the animated... sitcom Family Guy and co-created American Dad! and The Cleveland Show, for which he also voices many of the shows' various characters. A native of Kent, Connecticut, MacFarlane is a graduate of the Rhode Island School of Design, where he studied animation, earning a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree. He was an animator and writer for Hanna-Barbera for several television shows, including Johnny Bravo, Cow and Chicken, Dexter's Laboratory and I Am Weasel, before creating his own series for 20th Century Fox entitled Family Guy in 1999. MacFarlane went on to co-create American Dad! in 2005, and The Cleveland Show in 2009 for Fox. He also went on to serve as executive producer on the Fox sitcom The Winner. As an actor, he has made guest appearances on shows such as Gilmore Girls, The War at Home and FlashForward.

Jason Christopher Marsden is an American screen and voice actor who has done numerous voice roles in animated films, as well as various television... series. Born in Providence, Rhode Island, Marsden's mother, Linda Marsden, is a former fashion model, and his father, Myles Marsden, is a former Premier danseur of the Yugoslav National Ballet and Founder of the first regional ballet company in New England called State Ballet of Rhode Island. Jason and his parents moved from Rhode Island to Fullerton, California in August 1985 when he was 10, where he attended Laguna Road Elementary School while pursuing his acting career. Marsden was discovered by producer Bud Barth of Del Mar Media Arts. Marsden booked his first major role, a movie called Robot Jox. He played Alan Quartermaine, Jr., in the American soap opera General Hospital. He continued this role for two years, while still attending elementary school. This was followed soon afterwards by the role of Eddie Munster in the TV series remake of The Munsters titled The Munsters Today.

Spalding Rockwell Gray was an American actor, playwright, screenwriter, performance artist and monologuist. He was primarily known for his... "trenchant, personal narratives delivered on sparse, unadorned sets with a dry, WASP, quiet mania." Gray achieved celebrity status for his monologue Swimming to Cambodia, which was adapted into a film in 1987 by Jonathan Demme. He began his career in regional theatre, moved to New York in 1967 and three years later joined Richard Schechner's experimental troupe, the Performance Group. He co-founded the Wooster Group ensemble in 1975. He died in New York City of an apparent suicide in 2004. A documentary film about his life, entitled And Everything Is Going Fine, was released in 2010 and was directed by Steven Soderbergh. Gray was born in Providence, Rhode Island, to Rockwell Gray, Sr., the treasurer of Brown & Sharpe, and Margaret Elizabeth "Betty" Horton, a homemaker. He was the middle-born of three sons: Rockwell, Jr., Spalding and Channing. He was raised in the Christian Scientist faith and grew up in Barrington, Rhode Island, spending summers at his grandmother's house in Newport.

Matthew "Matt" Hyson is a retired American professional wrestler, best known for his performances in Extreme Championship Wrestling and World... Wrestling Entertainment under the ring name Spike Dudley and in Total Nonstop Action Wrestling under the ring name Brother Runt. In ECW, he was a two-time Tag Team Champion. In WWE, he was a one-time Cruiserweight Champion, a one-time Tag Team Champion with Tazz, a one-time European Champion and a seven-time Hardcore Champion. Prior to his wrestling career, Hyson received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Skidmore College in Saratoga Springs, New York, and was a third grade English teacher. During the documentary Beyond the Mat, a heavily bleeding Hyson delivers the line "I shall, I do" . In May 1993, Hyson entered All Pro Wrestling's "Boot Camp" in Hayward, California to train as a referee and manager. He quickly began training to be a wrestler as well, and spent the next three years wrestling on the California independent promotions.
