The Saskatchewan Legislative Building is located in Regina, Saskatchewan, Canada, and houses the Legislative Assembly of Saskatchewan. The... Saskatchewan Legislative Building was built between 1908 and 1912 in the Beaux Arts style to a design by Edward and William Sutherland Maxwell of Montreal. The Maxwells also supervised construction of the building by the Montreal company P. Lyall & Sons, who later built the Centre Block of the federal Parliament Building in Ottawa after the 1866 Parliament Building was destroyed by fire during 1916. Piles began to be drilled for the foundations during the autumn of 1908 and during 1909 the Governor General of Canada, the Earl Grey, laid the cornerstone. In 1912, Prince Arthur, Duke of Connaught, by then the serving governor general, inaugurated the building. The design contemplates expansion of the building by the addition of wings extending south from the east and west ends and coming together to form a courtyard.

Wascana Centre is a 9.3 square kilometre park built around Wascana Lake in Regina, Saskatchewan. It brings together lands and buildings owned by... the City of Regina, University of Regina, and Province of Saskatchewan, each of which is represented on the board of directors, and contains government, recreational, cultural, educational and environmental facilities. It was designed by the Seattle architect Minoru Yamasaki — famous for design of the original World Trade Center in New York — in tandem with his plans for the Regina Campus of the University of Saskatchewan. His stark modernist plan for the University, which was from the outset a matter of contention as to its suitability for the featureless Regina plain, is evident in the first three buildings of the campus, the laboratory, classroom and library buildings, but the laboratory and library buildings have been substantially altered and the original master plan for the campus has been revamped over time.

Casino Regina is a casino located on Saskatchewan Drive in Regina, Saskatchewan, Canada. It operates in the city's former union station, a Tyndall... and ashlar stone structure completed in 1912. The casino is owned and operated by Sask Gaming. The Beaux-Arts style Union Station was constructed in 1911-12 and was actually Regina's third train station; the first is now a museum in Broadview, Saskatchewan. The station was completed the same year the deadly "Regina Cyclone" struck the city, tearing through Wascana Park and gutting part of the downtown area. The building underwent a major expansion in 1931, and the original façade was redone in a simpler Art Deco style with Tyndall stone. As well, terrazzo floors, marble support columns and plaster molded ceilings where added to the interior. In the early 1990s, cutbacks to rail services throughout Canada lead to the closure of Regina's Union Station. The Station had been an important part of Regina's history and heritage since its opening in 1912. After the station's closure, its fate remained unknown for several years. Union Station was designated as an official heritage site in 1991.

Goodale was born in Regina, Saskatchewan and raised on a farm near Wilcox, Saskatchewan. He was a member of Scouts Canada and earned the rank of Queen's Scout. He first attended the University of Saskatchewan, Regina Campus and then obtained a law degree from the University of Saskatchewan in Saskatoon, where he was awarded the Gold Medal for academic achievement. Active at politics from a young age, he was first elected to the Parliament of Canada in the 1974 election at the age of 24. He served as backbench MP until the 1979 election, when he was defeated. In 1981, Goodale was named leader of the Saskatchewan Liberal Party. He led that party to a very poor showing in the 1982 provincial election, in which the party received 4.

Justin Warsylewicz is a Canadian speedskater. In February 2004, at the age of eighteen, he became Canadian All Round Champion in 2004 after winning... the World Junior Championships earlier that year. His win left the talented Dutchman Sven Kramer behind him in second place. The student of kinesiology missed the first half of the 2004/2005 season when he was diagnosed with a heart irregularity. This required surgical procedures on November 17th and December 8th in which a catheter was wired into his heart. Nevertheless he participated in the Canadian All Round Championship at the end of December, and successfully defended his title. He also participated in the 2006 Winter Olympics and won a silver medal in men's team pursuit speed skating.

Raymondus Vernon Agopsowicz in Zehner, Saskatchewan, and was baptised at the Sacred Heart Catholic parish in the nearby town of Arat. He was one of two sons of Adolf Agopsowicz, a grocer, and his wife Eleonore Krückel . Both parents' families immigrated to the Edenwold district in the late 19th century from the Austrian crownland and duchy of Bukovina. He was of Armenian, German, and Polish descent. Vernon was educated at the Banff School of Fine Arts and the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art in London before becoming a live stage actor on the early CBC. In 1974, he completed a season at The Royal Shakespeare Theatre in Stratford-Upon-Avon, England, playing Malvolio. He made his screen debut in 1956 as the voice of Big Brother in Michael Anderson's film version of George Orwell's 1984 starring Edmond O'Brien. He returned to Canada afterwards and gained film experience appearing on the TV series Tugboat Annie and The Last of the Mohicans.

Ryan Getzlaf is a Canadian professional ice hockey player. He is a centre and the captain of the Anaheim Ducks of the National Hockey League . He... grew up in Regina, Saskatchewan, Canada and he played junior hockey with the Calgary Hitmen. He was drafted 19th overall in the 2003 NHL Entry Draft by the Mighty Ducks of Anaheim and he has been in the NHL since 2005. His brother Chris Getzlaf plays for the Saskatchewan Roughriders, and won the Grey Cup in 2007, the same year Ryan won the Stanley Cup with Anaheim. Getzlaf started skating at the age of four and grew up playing numerous sports with his older brother Chris, who is currently a slotback for the Saskatchewan Roughriders of the Canadian Football League . While hockey was his main focus as a young athlete, Getzlaf also played organized volleyball, football and baseball. As a football player, Getzlaf played tailback. As a catcher playing baseball, he represented Saskatchewan at the 1998 peewee baseball nationals and earned several game MVP awards. He attended high school at Robert Usher Collegiate in Regina, graduating in 2003.

In international competition, she came in 14th at the Koenigssee, Germany World Cup. Her first Olympics were the 2006 Winter Olympics in Turin. During the Olympics on February 14, she sustained minor injuries from a crash on the luge track, in the third of four runs, when she went to high on one of the corners of the track. As a result of the crash, she didn't proceed to the fourth run. Simister's best finish at the FIL World Luge Championships was ninth in the women's singles event at Oberhof in 2008. She qualified for the 2010 Winter Olympics where she finished 25th. Simister was one of about 20 athletes in the 2006 Winter Olympics to have attended high school at the National Sport School in Calgary, Alberta.

Charles David Lubiniecki , better known as Charlie David, is a Canadian actor, who stars in the LGBT horror series Dante's Cove. He has also worked... as a producer, writer, and TV host on a number of shows like F.Y.E!, SpyTV, Bump! and Crash Test Mommy. He is co-owner, alongside Derek James and Linda Carter of Border2Border Entertainment, a production house of film and television projects. Charlie David was born in Regina, Saskatchewan, Canada, and raised in Yorkton. During high school, David performed in the musical group Sask Express. In 2000, he graduated from the Canadian College of Performing Arts, Victoria, British Columbia. He then moved on to co-found the boy band 4Now, in which he played piano. The band performed around Canada and the United States and opened for acts including Destiny's Child, The Black Eyed Peas and Pink. The band released two recordings and is currently on hiatus. David later turned his attention to hosting and acting. He hosted for E! Television, NBC, OUTtv, here!
