Korn is an American nu metal band from Bakersfield, California, formed in 1993. The current band line up includes four members: Jonathan Davis,... James "Munky" Shaffer, Reginald "Fieldy" Arvizu, and Ray Luzier. Korn was originally formed by three of the members of the now-defunct band L.A.P.D., with the addition of two other people. The band released their first demo album, Neidermeyer's Mind, in 1993. Their debut album, Korn was released in October 1994, where they featured the same musicians that had performed on Neidermeyer's Mind. The band began recording Life Is Peachy in April 1996, and released it in October 1996. Follow the Leader is recognized as Korn's mainstream breakthrough, peaking at number one on the Billboard 200 in August 1998, along with the following album, Issues, in November 1999. The band released Untouchables in June 2002, and later released Take a Look in the Mirror in November 2003. Their first compilation album, Greatest Hits Vol. 1, was released in October 2004, concluding Korn's contract with Epic and Immortal Records.

Years active:2002 Fieldy's Dreams is the rap project by Korn's bass guitarist, Fieldy. His first album, the gangsta rap album Rock'n Roll Gangster,... was released on 22 January 2002. Most of the lyrics and music were by Fieldy himself, with Polar Bear helping out with the rest. Fieldy renamed his project "Fieldy's Nightmare" and was due to release a 2008 album, Sobriety, but recording was put on hold to focus on work with Korn. Fieldy says that this new album will not be gangster rap but a bass instrumental album with a funk/jazz fusion.

Virgin Records is a British record label founded by English entrepreneur Richard Branson, Simon Draper, and Nik Powell in 1972. The company grew to be a worldwide music phenomenon, with platinum performers such as Roy Orbison, Devo, Genesis, Keith Richards, Janet Jackson, Culture Club, Simple... Minds, Lenny Kravitz, The Smashing Pumpkins, Mike Oldfield, and more on their list of artists. It was later sold to Thorn EMI in 1992. Its American operations were merged with Capitol Records in 2007 to create the Capitol Music Group. Branson and Powell had initially run a small record shop called Virgin Records and Tapes on Notting Hill Gate, London, specialising particularly in "krautrock" imports, and offering bean bags and free vegetarian food for the benefit of customers listening to the music on offer. After making the shop into a success, they turned their business into a fully fledged record label. The name Virgin, according to Branson , arose from Tessa Watts, a colleague of his, when they were brainstorming business ideas. She suggested Virgin - as they were all new to business - like "virgins".

Roadrunner Records is an American record label that concentrates primarily on heavy metal bands. It is a subsidiary of Warner Music Group. The label was launched in 1980 as "Roadracer Records" in the Netherlands. Roadrunner's initial business was importing North American metal-band recordings into... Europe. In 1986, Roadrunner opened its US headquarters in New York City and later opened offices in the United Kingdom, Germany, France, Japan, Australia, Denmark and the latest in Canada. Early successes included albums from King Diamond and Annihilator. The label also handled early Metallica releases in the Scandinavian region. The end of the 1980s saw the release of two albums that are now considered classics of their respective genres: Obituary's Slowly We Rot and Sepultura's Beneath the Remains. The 1990s saw the arrival of acts such as Life of Agony, Machine Head, Suffocation, Type O Negative, and underground grunge rockers Willard. As the 1990s wore on, several of Roadrunner's bands managed to make an impact on the mainstream, most notably Sepultura and Type O Negative. Sepultura's 1993 album, Chaos A.D.
