Toronto is the provincial capital of Ontario and the largest city in Canada. It is located in Southern Ontario on the northwestern shore of Lake Ontario. A relatively modern city, Toronto's history dates back to the late-18th century, when its land was first purchased by the British monarchy from... the Mississaugas of the New Credit. The settlement was later established as the Town of York and proclaimed as the new capital of Upper Canada by its lieutenant-governor, John Graves Simcoe. In 1834, York was incorporated as a city and renamed to its present name. The city was ransacked in the Battle of York during the War of 1812 and damaged in two great fires in 1849 and in 1904. Since its incorporation, Toronto has repeatedly expanded its borders through amalgamation with surrounding municipalities, most recently in 1998. With over 2.6 million residents, it is the fifth most populous city in North America. Its metropolitan area has over 5.5 million residents.

Bay is a station on the Bloor–Danforth line of the subway system in Toronto, Canada. It is located at 64 Bloor Street West at Bay Street. One major amenity of this station is the Toronto Transit Commission's Lost articles office, where objects lost on TTC property are kept. Bay Station was... opened in 1966 as part of the original segment of the Bloor-Danforth line, from Keele Station in the west to Woodbine Station in the east. Early plans of the Bloor line, and even some published maps, named this station ‘Yorkville’; the platform signs read ‘BAY’ in large type, with a smaller ‘YORKVILLE’ underneath. Below the main platform for Bay Station is an abandoned platform, which was used for only six months in 1966 when the TTC experimentally ran trains whose routes included portions of both the Yonge-University and Bloor-Danforth lines. This abandoned platform is sometimes referred to as Lower Bay by the general public or Bay Lower by the TTC.

Dundas is a formerly independent town and now constituent community in the city of Hamilton in Ontario, Canada. It is nicknamed the Valley Town because of its topographical location at the bottom of the Niagara Escarpment on the Western edge of Lake Ontario. The population has been stable for... decades at about twenty thousand, largely because it has not annexed rural land from the protected Dundas Valley Conservation Area. Notable events are the Buskerfest in early June, and the Dundas Cactus Festival in August. The town of Dundas was named by John Graves Simcoe, Lieutenant Governor of Upper Canada, for his friend Henry Dundas, 1st Viscount Melville, a Scottish lawyer and politician who never visited North America. Prior to being called "Dundas" the town was called Coote’s Paradise, and renamed after 1814 to Dundas. Dundas was then incorporated in 1847 as part of Wentworth County. In the late 18th and early 19th centuries, Dundas enjoyed considerable economic prosperity through its access to Lake Ontario via the Desjardins Canal, and was an important town in Upper Canada and Canada West.
