Technōs Japan Corporation is a defunct Japanese video game developer, best known for the Kunio-kun and Double Dragon franchises. The company was also the owner of the American publishing subsidiary, American Technōs Inc. Initially operating from a single-room apartment, Technōs was... founded in 1981 by three staff members of Data East. Their first game was Minky Monkey, released in 1982. Many of Technōs Japan's earlier games were often published or distributed by other companies, particularly Data East and Taito, as Technōs at the time did not have the economical resource to distribute their own games at first. Nekketsu Kōha Kunio-kun , a side-scrolling beat-em-up released in 1986 about a high school student who fought thugs and delinquents from other schools, was the company's first big hit in Japan. Kunio-kun was released in the west as Renegade with the game's graphics changed to make the game marketable in the overseas market.

Atlus is a Japanese computer and video game developer, publisher, and distributor based in Tokyo, Japan, best known for developing the role-playing video game franchise Megami Tensei. The first Megami Tensei was a Nintendo Entertainment System video game published by Namco based on a trilogy of... novels, but after the second game, Atlus formed to publish the series. Its corporate mascot is Jack Frost from Shin Megami Tensei. Atlus is headquartered in Shinjuku, Tokyo. In October 2003, Takara acquired them. In November 2006, Index Holdings enterprise acquired Atlus by buying a majority of its stock. On 30 August 2010, Index Holding announced that Atlus would no longer be an independent company and would be under their direct control. Though this has caused concern among fans about the future of Atlus, the CEO of Atlus, Shinichi Suzuki has officially affirmed that Atlus will continue to provide the "finest quality game experiences possible" and the merger only "further strengthens the foundation of Atlus, both in Japan and here in the United States".

505 Games, formerly known as 505 Game Street, is an Italian video game publishing division of Italian company Digital Bros. group founded in 2006. The company also maintains a UK division in Milton Keynes and a North American division in Los Angeles opened in May 2008. Founded in 2006, 505... currently publishes games in PAL and North American territories for the PlayStation 2, PlayStation 3, Wii, Xbox 360, Nintendo DS, PSP, and Windows operating system, and previously for the Game Boy Advance, PlayStation and Xbox. Some of the more high-profile games published by the company in PAL regions include IL2-Sturmovik, Cooking Mama, ArmA: Armed Assault, ArmA II, Harvest Moon: A Wonderful Life Special Edition, Magna Carta: Tears of Blood, Stella Deus: The Gate of Eternity, Fashion Designer: Style Icon and titles in the Bust-a-Move and Armored Core series. Additionally they have published certain more obscure niche titles, such as the games Graffiti Kingdom and Michigan, which may not have gained a PAL release otherwise. The first game released by the US branch was a game adaptation of the film Hotel for Dogs.
