Robert Archibald Shaw was an English actor and novelist, remembered for his performances in From Russia with Love , A Man for All Seasons , The Sting , the original The Taking of Pelham One Two Three , Black Sunday , The Deep and Jaws , where he played the shark hunter Quint. Robert Shaw was born in Westhoughton, near Bolton, Lancashire, England, in 1927. His mother, Doreen , was a former nurse born in Piggs Peak, Swaziland, and his father, Thomas Shaw, was a physician.
