The San Francisco 49ers are a professional American football team based in San Francisco, California, playing in the West Division of the National Football Conference in the National Football League . The team was founded in 1946 as a charter member of the All-America Football Conference and... joined the NFL in 1950 after the two leagues merged. The 49ers are well known for having one of the greatest dynasties in NFL and American sports history during the 1980s and early 1990s, winning five Super Bowl championships, including four in the 1980s. Those championship teams were led by notable hall of famers such as Joe Montana, Jerry Rice, Ronnie Lott, Steve Young, and coach Bill Walsh. They are currently second only to the Pittsburgh Steelers in total Super Bowl wins , tied with the Dallas Cowboys at 5. The 49ers won 10 or more games for 16 straight seasons. The 49ers remain the only team in NFL history to appear in more than one Super Bowl without ever losing. The name "49ers" comes from the name given to the gold prospectors who arrived in Northern California around 1849 during the California Gold Rush.

Kansas State University, commonly shortened to K-State, is an institution of higher learning located in Manhattan, Kansas, in the United States. Kansas State is the oldest public university in the state of Kansas, and saw a record high enrollment of 23,588 students for the Fall 2011 semester. A... branch campus is located in Salina, Kansas, housing the College of Technology and Aviation. Another branch campus, known as the Olathe Innovation Campus, is presently under construction in Olathe, Kansas. When completed, the Olathe facility will be the academic research presence within the Kansas Bioscience Park, and will research bioenergy, animal health, plant science and food safety and security. Kansas State University, originally named Kansas State Agricultural College, was founded on February 16, 1863, during the American Civil War, as a land-grant institution under the Morrill Act. The school was the first land-grant college created under the Morrill Act.

Conroe is the seat of Montgomery County and falls within the Houston–Sugar Land–Baytown metropolitan area. It is located about 40 miles north of Houston. As of the 2010 U.S. Census, the city population was 56,207, up from 36,811 in 2000. The city is named after northern born,... Southern Cavalry officer, and Houston lumberman Isaac Conroe. Conroe founded a sawmill there in 1881. The city originally gained in wealth due to the lumber and oil industries. Originally named "Conroe's Switch", the area saw an influx of residents in the late 19th century due to the lumber demands on the piney wood forest of the area. During the 1930s, due to oil profits, the city boasted more millionaires per capita than any other US city, though only for a brief period of time. Elvis Presley performed at the High School football field on August 24, 1955. Also Los Tigres del Norte performed at the Crighton Theatre in 2009. After the construction of Interstate 45, many Houstonians began to settle communities around Conroe.
