Rock Haven is a 2007 gay Christian-themed movie directed by David Lewis, and starring Sean Hoagland, Owen Alabado, Laura Jane Coles and Katheryn Hecht. The film was shot on location in San Francisco and Bodega Bay. The movie is slowly paced, with shots of the Northern California seascape. Brady is 18 has just moved with his mother Marty to Rock Haven, a seaside community. There he meets Clifford , 19, and they are attracted to each other, except that Brady is torn between his and his family's Christian values and his attraction. Brady is, of course, deeply in the closet and is fighting to... suppress his urges. Brady's mother, sensing that something is wrong, tries to fix him up with a nice Christian girl - who knows immediately that he's gay. Brady, though fighting his "sinful" desires, is drawn to Clifford and their friendship eventually turns into love but, as soon as they go all the way, Brady's Christian panic clicks in again. Brady consults Reverend Brown for guidance. Brady's shower scenes are a way to cleanse himself of these thoughts or sexual actions.
