Rotterdam

The Euromast is a tower in Rotterdam constructed between 1958 and 1960, designed by Hugh Maaskant. It was specially built for the 1960 Floriade, and... is a listed monument since 2010. It is a concrete building with an internal diameter of 9 meters and a wall thickness of 30 centimetres . For stability it is built on a concrete block of 1,900,000 kilograms so that the centre of gravity is below ground. It has a "crow's nest" observation platform 96 meters above-ground and a restaurant. Originally 101 meters in height it was the tallest building in Rotterdam. It lost this position for a while, but regained it when the "Space Tower" was added to the top of the building in 1970, giving an additional 85 meters . Euromast is a member of the World Federation of Great Towers.

Minister of the Netherlands from November 4, 1982 until August 22, 1994. He previously served as Minister of Economic Affairs from May 11, 1973 until December 19, 1977 in the Cabinet den Uyl. He became a Member of the House of Representatives from December 22, 1977 until November 4, 1982. When the Parliamentary leader of Christian Democratic Appeal in the House of Representatives Wim Aantjes resigned of a World War II controversy, Lubbers succeed him as Parliamentary leader, he served from November 7, 1978 until November 4, 1982. When the Christian Democratic Appeal Party leader and sitting Prime Minister Dries van Agt announced his retirement, Lubbers was chosen to succeed him. Lubbers became Prime Minister of the Netherlands, leading the Cabinets Lubbers I, II and III. Lubbers was regarded by many during his time in office as an ideological heir to Margaret Thatcher. One of his campaign slogans was: "meer markt, minder overheid" .

Richard Peter Stanislav Krajicek is a Dutch former professional tennis player. In 1996 he won the men's singles title at Wimbledon, the only Dutch... player to have done so. In the quarterfinals of that tournament he defeated Pete Sampras. This was Sampras' only singles defeat at Wimbledon between 1993 and 2001. Since 2004 Krajicek has been the tournament director of the ABN AMRO World Tennis Tournament in Rotterdam. He is also the author of various sports books. Richard Krajicek is the son of Czech immigrants. In 1999, Krajicek married model, ex-Bond girl, writer and hostess of Holland's Next Top Model and Benelux' Next Top Model, Daphne Deckers. Bart Berman is a Dutch-Israeli pianist and composer, best known as an interpreter of Franz Schubert and 20th century music. Bart Berman studied... piano with Jaap Spaanderman at a predecessor of the Conservatorium van Amsterdam and complemented his piano education with Theo Bruins and a master class by Alfred Brendel. As a soloist Berman was awarded the Dutch Prize of Excellence, the first prize in the Gaudeamus Competition for interpreters of contemporary music, the Friends of the Concertgebouw Award and four first prizes at competitions for young soloists. He performs in Israel, Europe and the United States, as a soloist and in chamber music. Berman was a soloist with many Dutch and Israeli orchestras and often records for CDs, radio and television. Current collaborations include flautist Abbie de Quant , Duo 4 with pianist Meir Wiesel, the Tamar Piano Trio and ensembles with vocalists such as Bat-Sheva Zeisler and Shimrit Carmi. Past partnerships include Duo Beer Sheva with the late pianist Sara Fuxon. In the seasons of 2004-2008 he also accompanied the remake of Hanoch Levin's satirical cabaret You, Me and the Next War.

He also had various... guest roles in other shows but has not made an acting appearance since 1975. He is most famous for his marriage to the actress Merle Oberon in 1975; after Oberon died in 1979, Wolders became the companion of Audrey Hepburn until her death in 1993.

Leo Beenhakker is an international Dutch football coach, who is the current Sports Director of Újpest FC. He has been the coach of several... prestigious clubs including Ajax, Feyenoord, Real Madrid, Real Zaragoza and Club América. He has also coached the Saudi Arabian and Dutch national teams. He coached the national team of Trinidad and Tobago in the year leading up to the 2006 FIFA World Cup. Under Beenhakker's guidance the team managed to qualify for the 2006 World Cup, where the team secured a draw against Sweden in its first match of the 2006 FIFA World Cup, and gave England cause for concern in the second match. From 2000 to 2003 Beenhakker was Director of Technical Affairs with Ajax. In that period he fired coach Co Adriaanse and replaced him with Ronald Koeman. Because he has been active in Spanish football he has the nickname "Don Leo". He is famous for his fondness of cigars and his dry humour. On 11 July 2006, Beenhakker was appointed as the manager of the Polish national team.

Johnny Young is an Australian singer, composer, record producer, disc jockey, television producer and host. Originally from Netherlands, his family... settled in Perth, Western Australia in the early 1950s. Young had a career in the 1960s as a pop singer and had a number one hit with the double-A-side, "Step Back" and "Cara-lyn" in 1966. As a composer, he penned number one hits, "The Real Thing" and "The Girl That I Love" for Russell Morris, "The Star" for Ross D. Wylie and "I Thank You" for Lionel Rose. He presented and produced the popular television show, Young Talent Time, which screened on Network Ten from 1971 to 1988 – it launched the careers of teen pop stars Jamie Redfern, Debra Byrne, Dannii Minogue and Tina Arena – typically each episode closed with a sing-along rendition of The Beatles song "All My Loving". On 9 March 1990, Young was inducted into the TV Week Logie Awards' Hall of Fame. On 27 October 2010, he was inducted into the Australian Recording Industry Association Hall of Fame by Arena who performed his song, "The Star". He is the first, and so far only, person to be inducted in both halls.
