Samuel L. Jones III is an American actor, best known for playing Pete Ross on the first three seasons of the television series Smallville. Jones played Pete Ross on the first three seasons of the television series Smallville. He left the series to film Glory Road. Jones has also appeared on the television shows The Practice, ER, CSI: Crime Scene Investigation, and 7th Heaven. He appeared with former Cosby Show actress Raven-Symoné in the 2006 Lifetime movie For One Night. He returned to Smallville in 2008 for the episode "Hero". Jones also played Craig Shilo in Spike TV's Blue Mountain... State, but his character was written off following his arrest. In October 2009, Jones was taken into custody by Drug Enforcement Administration agents on charges of drug trafficking. He was charged with conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute. On December 16, 2010, Jones pleaded guilty to conspiracy to sell more than 10,000 oxycodone pills. Jones was the "Hollywood connection" in a plot to illegally purchase and distribute the drug, according to documents filed in U.S. District Court. Jones faced up to 20 years in federal prison.
