Suwon is the provincial capital of Gyeonggi-do, South Korea. A major city of over a million inhabitants, Suwon lies approximately 30 kilometres south of Seoul. It is traditionally known as "The City of Filial Piety". Suwon has existed in various forms throughout Korea's history, growing from a... small settlement in tribal times to a major industrial and cultural city today. Suwon is the only remaining completely walled city in South Korea. As such, the city walls are one of the more popular tourist destinations in Gyeonggi Province. As an industrial centre, Suwon houses a large Samsung Electronics factory. Suwon is served by two motorways, the national railway network and the Seoul Metropolitan Subway, facilitating transport of commuters, tourists and goods alike. Suwon is a major educational centre, being home to 14 university campuses. This, along with widespread transport links, draws inhabitants from across the country and foreign population of 1.85%. Suwon is known domestically as a footballing city. Suwon Samsung Bluewings Football Club has won the K-league on four occasions and AFC Champions League for two occasions.

Starent Networks was an information technology and computer networking products company. It was headquartered in Tewksbury, Massachusetts, USA, with major engineering facilities in Pune, India and Bangalore, India. On December 18, 2009, Cisco completed the acquisition of Starent Networks. Starent is a provider of infrastructure products that enabled mobile operators to deliver multimedia services such as video, Internet access, voice-over-IP,... e-mail, mobile TV, photo sharing, and gaming to their subscribers. The products act as gateways that connect the radio access network to the IP network. The gateways allow the service provider to have fine control over the end user experience of the high bandwidth/low latency applications, transaction accounting details and access control. On October 13, 2009, Cisco announced a plan to purchase Starent for $2.9 billion USD. On December 18, 2009, Cisco completed acquisition of Starent Networks.
