San Rafael

George Duke is a multi-faceted American musician, known as a keyboard pioneer, composer, singer and producer in both jazz and popular mainstream... musical genres. He has worked with numerous acclaimed artists as arranger, music director, writer and co-writer, record producer and professor of music. He first made a name for himself with the album The Jean-Luc Ponty Experience with the George Duke Trio. He is known primarily for thirty-odd solo albums as well as for his collaborations with other musicians, particularly Frank Zappa. Duke attended Tamalpais High School in Mill Valley before earning a bachelor's degree in trombone and composition with a minor in contrabass, from the San Francisco Conservatory in 1967. Playing initially with friends from garages to local clubs, Duke quickly eased his way into session work, which refined his abilities and expanded his approach to music. .

Dan Green, also known as Jay Snyder is an American voice actor, voice director and script adapter who has worked for 4Kids Entertainment, DuArt Film... and Video, NYAV Post and Central Park Media. He is best known as the voice of Yugi Muto from Yu-Gi-Oh!, Trudge from Yu-Gi-Oh! 5D's, Knuckles the Echidna in some of the Sonic the Hedgehog video games, and is also known for his script adaptions of Kurokami: The Animation and Mobile Suit Gundam Unicorn. Green was born in San Rafael, California. He attended Rutgers University in New Brunswick, New Jersey, and studied acting at the Juilliard School in New York City. In 2008, he married Michal Lura Friedman, a singer and fellow voice actress. She died on November 25, 2011, from complications during childbirth. The twins she carried were delivered successfully, and fans have initiated charity efforts to provide their children, Jackson James Snyder and Reverie Vivian Snyder.

Rubén Valtierra is the keyboardist best known for working with "Weird Al" Yankovic. The two met at the Dr. Demento 20th Anniversary special in... October 1991. Shortly after, Yankovic invited him to join his band as a touring keyboardist, and they have worked together ever since. Valtierra can also be heard on the most popular tracks of Yankovic's albums and videos. Valtierra began classical studies at the age of ten. After playing in his high school orchestra, he attended the University of California at Santa Cruz , and later was a member of the award-winning Cabrillo College Big Band. Upon graduation, Valtierra led the jazz/funk fusion group Rush Hour until moving to Los Angeles where, soon after arriving, he was playing, recording and travelling the world with members of groups such as Santana, Aretha Franklin, Tom Jones, Natalie Cole, Tower of Power, Chick Corea, Elton John, and Red Hot Chili Peppers. After world tours with rock legend Glenn Hughes/Deep Purple and Blues Icon Charlie Musselwhite, Valtierra found himself touring and recording with Yankovic.

Jamie Marie Kern is best known as Creator and CEO of It Cosmetics She was also a TV News Anchor for several years and prior to that, a contestant on... the first season of Big Brother. She has also competed in the Miss USA pageant and won the Baywatch College Search in 1999 where she appeared on an episode of the TV show. She credits that experience to first learning about body makeup. Kern was born and grew up in San Rafael, California but later moved to Des Moines, Washington. Kern graduated from Washington State University as a member of that University's Honor College and was awarded the President's Award. She maintained a GPA of 4.0 and completed her degree in three years. In 1999 she was the Phi Kappa Phi Senior Scholar of the Year. After winning the title Miss Washington USA in late 1999, Kern went on to compete in the Miss USA 2000 pageant held in Branson, Missouri. The pageant, which was won by Lynnette Cole of Tennessee. Also in 2000 she appeared on the Reality TV show Big Brother. She was the last female houseguest left on that show .
