Estadio San Carlos de Apoquindo is a multi-purpose stadium, in Santiago, Chile. It is currently used mostly for football matches and is the home... stadium of Club Deportivo Universidad Católica. The stadium holds 16,000 people and was built in 1988. At the club's beginning, all sports were on Santa Rosa de las Condes Stadium, which is a big sport centre that is going to be demolished and transported to San Carlos. The club president of the time Manuel Vélez Samaniego decided to open this sports complex. By 1945, the club played as the home team at the Independencia Stadium which was demolished because of the financial problems of the club, and started to play at Unión Española Stadium, the Santa Laura. In 1980, the idea of a new stadium comes out, the stadium was opened on September 4, 1988, the football stadium was not the whole complex, the stadium had also rugby, athletics and some other sport fields. The highest attendance for a match at San Carlos de Apoquindo to date is 20,936, for a 0-0 tie between Universidad Católica and Cobreloa on November 1, 1992. The stadium has hosted concerts by famous artists, spanning many different genres.

Cecilia Bolocco is a Chilean television entertainer and former Miss Universe 1987. She has worked as a journalist on the Spanish language edition of... CNN, on Telemundo and on various programs for Chilean Television and she acted on the soap opera Morelia. Between 2001 and 2007 she was married to former Argentine president Carlos Menem. Bolocco was born in Santiago, Chile to Enzo Bolocco Cintolesi, a businessman, and Rose Marie Fonck Assler. She attended primary and secondary school at Santiago College. She then took a year of Civil Engineering at the University of Santiago, Chile, before dropping out to pursue Costume Design at INCA-CEA Institute. Bolocco was selected Miss Chile for Miss Universe on April 20, 1987. On May 26, 1987 she beat 67 contestants to become the first Chilean to win the Miss Universe beauty pageant that was held in Singapore that year. During her year-long reign, she settled in Los Angeles, California. Bolocco began a television career in Chile with the show Porque hoy es sábado on TVN Televisión Nacional de Chile.

Alejandro Fernando Amenábar Cantos is a Spanish- Chilean film director. Amenábar was born in Santiago, Chile to a Spanish mother and... Chilean father, but the family moved to Spain just one year after his birth. He studied cinema at Madrid's Universidad Complutense but eventually dropped out. In addition to writing and directing his own films, Amenábar has maintained a notable career as a composer of film scores, including the Goya Awards-nominated score for José Luis Cuerda's La lengua de las mariposas. Amenábar was awarded the Grand Prix of the Jury at the International Venice Film Festival in 2004 for Mar adentro , and in February 2005 the same film won the Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film. In February 2004, Amenábar came out to the Spanish gay magazine Shangay Express. Amenábar shot in 2008 an epic film called Ágora which he wrote with Mateo Gil. The film is set in Roman Egypt and is based on the life of philosopher and mathematician Hypatia of Alexandria.

Leonor Varela Palma is a Chilean actress, and model. She played the character Cleopatra in the 1999 film Cleopatra. She also has actively... participated in various ecological causes such as "Save Whales Again". Varela was born in Santiago, Chile, the daughter of Leonor, a massage therapist, and Chilean biologist and cognitive neuroscientist Francisco Varela García. She has a sister, Alejandra, and two brothers, Javier and Gabriel. Her mother, Leonor Palma, was of French, Hungarian and Syrian descent. Varela's family fled to Costa Rica in her early childhood when her homeland was overtaken by a military regime. She subsequently resided in Germany, the U.S., and France. In the early 1990s, her parents moved back to Chile, while she remained in Paris where she studied acting at the Niels Arestrup School, L'École du Passage, and Conservatoire Supérieur de Paris. Varela's first acting job was in 1995, playing Anette in Pony Trek, a children's film. Filming was in Iceland and Leonor was riding horses for three months. Then, referred to a French filmmaker by her dentist, she played in Shooting Stars .

Fernando Francisco González Ciuffardi is a professional tennis player from Chile. He is known for having one of the hardest forehands on the... circuit. In Spanish he is called El Bombardero de La Reina and Mano de Piedra . The English-language media has labeled him "Gonzo". González is one of the few active players to have reached at least the quarter-final round of all four Grand Slam tournaments. He played his first major final at the 2007 Australian Open, losing to top-ranked Roger Federer. He is the fourth male tennis player in history to have won each Olympic medal . Throughout his career, he has defeated many former number-one players, including Lleyton Hewitt, Andre Agassi, Roger Federer , Novak Djokovic, Rafael Nadal, Andy Roddick, Juan Carlos Ferrero, Carlos Moyà, Gustavo Kuerten, Marat Safin and Pete Sampras. González has qualified twice for the year-end Masters Cup event and was runner-up at two Masters Series tournaments. He is arguably known as Chile's best tennis player of the 2000s.

Horatio Sanz is a Chilean-born American actor and comedian best known as a cast member on Saturday Night Live from 1998-2006. Sanz most recently... starred alongside his former SNL castmate Chris Parnell in the Comedy Central series Big Lake. Sanz, the youngest of three sons, was born in Santiago, Chile to Sylvia and Carlos Sanz. He grew up in the North-Pulaski neighborhood on the west side of Chicago, Illinois. Starstruck at an early age, he honed his skills in Chicago, where he performed at various theaters, including The Court Theater and The Second City. While in Chicago, Sanz was also one of the founding members of the Upright Citizens Brigade sketch comedy and improv troupe. Sanz can still be seen regularly performing with the sketch troupe at their long-running hit improv show "ASSSSCAT 3000", at both of the UCB's popular comedy theaters located in New York City and Los Angeles. Sanz joined the cast of Saturday Night Live in September 1998.
