"Self-Portrait" is a painting by Dutch artist Vincent van Gogh.  van Gogh painted this self-portrait in Paris in the summer of 1887. The Detroit Institute of Arts' acquisition of this painting in 1922 marks the first time that a painting by Vincent van Gogh entered a collection by a public museum in the United States.
