Gyeongbokgung, also known as Gyeongbokgung Palace or Gyeongbok Palace, is a royal palace located in northern Seoul, South Korea. First constructed in... 1394 and reconstructed in 1867, it was the main and largest palace of the Five Grand Palaces built by the Joseon Dynasty. The name of the palace, Gyeongbokgung, translates in English as "Palace of Shining Happiness." Nearly destroyed by the Japanese government in the early 20th century, the walled palace complex is slowly being restored to its original form prior to destruction. As of 2009, roughly 40 percent of the original number of palace buildings still stand or are reconstructed. Gyeongbokgung was originally constructed in 1394 by King Taejo, the first king and the founder of the Joseon Dynasty, and its name was conceived by an influential government minister named Jeong Dojeon. Afterwards, the palace was continuously expanded during the reign of King Taejong and King Sejong the Great. It was severely damaged by fire in 1553, and its costly restoration, ordered by King Myeongjong, was completed in the following year.

Opened on July 12, 1989, Lotte World receives over 8 million visitors each year and is considered along with Tokyo Disney Resort as one of the world-class theme parks in Asia. Lotte World can be easily accessed from Jamsil Station, on Line 2 and Line 8 of the Seoul Subway. Located near the park is Seok-Chon Lake. Lotte World is located in Sincheon-dong, Songpa-gu, Seoul, South Korea. Its attractions include the outdoor amusement park Magic Island, Gyro Drop , Gyro Swing, and Atlantis Adventure. The most popular ride is Pharaoh's Fury. Lotte World was one of several locations used for filming the Korean drama Stairway to Heaven. Lotte World was host to the WPF in 2006.

Changgyeong Palace is a palace located in Seoul, South Korea. Originally the Summer Palace of the Goryeo Emperor, it later became one of the Five... Grand Palaces of the Joseon Dynasty. The palace was originally built as "Suganggung" by King Sejong for his father, Taejong, but in 1483 renovated and enlarged by King Seongjong at which time it received its current name. During the Japanese colonial period, the Japanese built a zoo, botanical garden, and museum on the site. In 1983 the zoo and botanical garden were removed. Like the other Five Grand Palaces, Changgyeonggung was heavily damaged by the Japanese, previously having been destroyed by them in 1598 during the unsuccessful Japanese invasion of Korea. Today its main points of interest are as follows: Munjeongjeon - Munjeongjeon is a council hall where the king dealt with routine state affairs. Unlike the throne hall, which faces east, this building faces south. Such a palace layout with a secondary structure facing a different direction than a throne hall is highly unusual in Korea. Munjeongjeon was also used to enshrine royal tablets after funerals. It was dismantled during the Japanese occupation.

Bae Yong-joon , is a South Korean actor best known for his roles in numerous television dramas and one of the first kkonminam icons. He is known as... Yon-sama to his Japanese fans. Born in Mapo-gu, Seoul, he was educated in Il-mun Preschool and Myung-il Elementary School. He eventually went to study in PaiChai Middle School and Hanyoung High School. Bae Yong-jun acknowledged that he had a girlfriend named Lee Sa-gang , and a photograph of her has since been distributed on the Internet. However, according to a 2005 edition of the I-weekly, a MediaCorp owned magazine in Singapore, Bae has since separated from Lee, citing personal reasons. He has since decided to keep his marital status private. Sources, notably HanCinema, maintain that Bae is still single. Bae's agency, KeyEast, reported that Bae's apartment at Samseong-dong, Seoul caught fire on May 7, 2006 around 8:00 p.m., due to a short circuit. The house was empty when the fire broke out, thus causing no injuries. However, the fire caused damages costing up to 10 million won.

Lee Eun-ju was a South Korean actress. She died by suicide at the age of 24. Born in Gunsan, Jeollabuk-do, South Korea, Lee moved to Seoul after... graduating high school to study acting. She was first noticed in the mid-1990s as a model for school uniforms, and after a number of television appearances she made her film debut in 1999 with Rainbow Trout. She went on to become a popular actress in Korea, starring in hit films such as Virgin Stripped Bare by Her Bachelors, Lovers' Concerto and Taegukgi. She also starred in the very popular Korean drama, The Phoenix, as well as The Scarlet Letter, her final role. On the night of February 22, 2005, only a few days after her graduation from Dankook University, Lee died by suicide at her apartment in Bundang, Seongnam. She was 24 years old. She slit her wrists and hanged herself. The family blamed the suicide on severe bouts of depression and mental illness, and said she had been suffering from insomnia due to the nude scenes she had done in The Scarlet Letter. She left a suicide note scrawled in blood, in which she wrote, "Mum, I am sorry and I love you.

Hyun Bin is a South Korean actor. He is best known for his lead roles in the TV dramas My Name is Kim Sam-soon in 2005, and Secret Garden in 2010.... Hyun Bin's acting career began when an official at an entertainment agency saw Hyun passing by on a motorcycle in high school and approached him. After his 2002 film Shower could not be released due to lack of funding, Hyun eventually made his debut in 2003 with the television series Bodyguard, followed by roles in the sitcom Nonstop 4 and quirky drama Ireland. He shot to stardom in the 2005 romantic comedy My Name is Kim Sam-soon with Kim Sun-ah. Sam-soon was a massive hit with average ratings of over 37% and 50.5% for the finale, for which Hyun won the Top Excellence Award at the MBC Drama Awards. Mainstream success eluded Hyun in the next few years. His first film as a lead actor A Millionaire's First Love flopped, as did TV melodrama The Snow Queen, a love story between a math genius-turned-boxer and a sheltered, pampered girl .

Ha Ji-won is one of Korean cinema’s top actresses. She is also noted for her versatility as an actress. She started her career playing supporting roles in television productions. In 2002, Ha Ji-won had her breakthrough role as the lead in the horror film Phone, earning her a best actress nomination at the Blue Dragon Film Awards. Since then she has gone on to make films like the Sex Is Zero, Reversal of Fortune, 100 Days with Mr. Arrogant and more recently Sector 7. She has also starred in the movie Haeundae. She has also starred in the TV series Something Happened in Bali in early 2004, co-starring Jo In Sung and So Ji-sub. In that project, she played tour guide Lee Soo-jeong, who consequently attracted two men whom she did not like. She won a Baek-Sang Best Actress Award for her performance in this drama. In 2010, she starred as Gil Ra Im in the fantasy drama, Secret Garden.

Jim Lee is a Korean-American comic book artist, writer, editor and publisher. He first broke into the industry in 1987 as an artist for Marvel... Comics, illustrating titles such as Alpha Flight and Punisher War Journal, before gaining a great deal of popularity on The Uncanny X-Men. X-Men #1, the 1991 spinoff series premiere that Lee penciled and co-wrote with Chris Claremont, remains the best-selling comic book of all time, according to the Guinness Book of World Records. In 1992 Lee and several other artists formed their own publishing company, Image Comics, to publish their creator-owned titles, with Lee publishing his titles through his studio, Wildstorm Productions, such as WildC.A.T.s and Gen¹³. Eschewing the role of publisher in order to return to illustration, Lee sold Wildstorm in 1998 to DC Comics, where he continued to run Wildstorm as a DC imprint until DC ended Wildstorm in 2010, as well as illustrating successful books set in DC's main fictional universe, such as the year-long "Batman: Hush" and "Superman: For Tomorrow" storylines.

John Yohan Cho is a Korean-American actor and musician, best known for his roles and as Harold Lee in the Harold & Kumar films and as the... character who coins the term "MILF" in the American Pie films . He also appeared in the critically acclaimed hit films Better Luck Tomorrow and American Beauty. More recently, Cho's fame has increased with his portrayal of the iconic Star Trek character Hikaru Sulu in the 2009 film Star Trek. For television, he is best known for his roles as FBI agent Demetri Noh in the Sci-Fi television drama FlashForward and Chau Presley in the sitcom Off Centre. Cho was born in Seoul, South Korea, and raised in Los Angeles, where his family settled in 1978. His father was a minister in the Church of Christ, and was originally from North Korea. Cho graduated from Herbert Hoover High School in Glendale, California, in 1990. He then attended the University of California, Berkeley, graduating in 1996 with a BA degree in English, and taught English at Pacific Hills School in West Hollywood, California.

Peter Kunshik Chung is a Korean American animator. He is best known for his unique style of animation, as the creator and director of Æon Flux,... which ran as shorts on MTV's Liquid Television before launching as its own half-hour television series. Peter Chung was born on April 19, 1961. Since his father was in the foreign service of Republic of Korea, he has lived in Seoul, London, Nairobi, Washington, DC, New York and Tunis. Then his parents immigrated to U.S.; he lived in McLean, Virginia. Chung studied animation at CalArts from 1979–81, one year at the Character Animation program, and another year in the program in Experimental Animation. Chung started his animation career at a small animation studio in Maryland at age 18 working for Animator and Illustrator Dominic LoPiccolo. Later, James Gallagher from CalArts would be a significant mentor. From there at age 15 he was doing character design for Hanna-Barbera. It was around this time he also started working on the layout and animation on Ralph Bakshi’s Fire and Ice before being hired by Disney for feature development.
