Ghost Ranch is a 21,000-acre retreat and education center located close to the village of Abiquiu in Rio Arriba County in north central New Mexico. The conference center and lodgings at Ghost Ranch are run by the Presbyterian Church but open to the general public. Ghost Ranch is part of Piedra... Lumbre , a 1766 land grant to Pedro Martin Serrano from Charles III of Spain. Arthur Newton Pack, the co-founder of the American Nature Association and one-time editor of its Nature magazine , bought Ghost Ranch in 1936, and donated it to the Presbyterian Church in 1955. Ghost Ranch is the subject of many landscapes by the American painter Georgia O'Keeffe, who maintained a summer home there in 1934, then her permanent residence nearby in Abiquiu, New Mexico. 200 million years ago Ghost Ranch and the American Southwest were located close to the equator, and had a warm, monsoon-like climate with heavy seasonal precipitation. Ghost Ranch includes a famous palaeontological site preserving Triassic dinosaurs. Fossil bones were found here as early as 1885.

Santa Ana Pueblo is a census-designated place in Sandoval County, New Mexico, United States. As of the 2000 census, the CDP had a total population of 479. It is part of the Albuquerque Metropolitan Statistical Area. The Pueblo, named Tamaya in the native language, administers a total reservation... land of 73,000 acres in the Rio Grande valley and is composed of Native Americans who speak an eastern dialect of the Keresan languages. The pueblo celebrates an annual feast day for its patron saint, St. Anne, on July 26. Today, the Pueblo operates the Santa Ana Star Casino and is the site of the Hyatt Regency Tamaya Resort & Spa. The Pueblo owns and operates two championship golf courses, Santa Ana Golf Club and Twin Warriors Golf Club. . According to the United States Census Bureau, the CDP has a total area of 7.4 square miles , of which, 6.9 square miles of it is land and 0.5 square miles of it is water.

Los Alamos is a townsite and census-designated place in Los Alamos County, New Mexico, United States, built upon four mesas of the Pajarito Plateau and the adjoining White Rock Canyon. The population of the CDP was 12,019 at the 2010 Census. The townsite or "the hill" is one part of town while... White Rock is also part of the town. Technically, both are part of the same incorporated city/county. Los Alamos is home to the Los Alamos National Laboratory, which was founded to undertake the Manhattan Project. Los Alamos County is an incorporated county, and many county offices are located at the townsite of Los Alamos. Los Alamos High School is the public high school of Los Alamos County. Before the Manhattan Project, the site was occupied by the Los Alamos Ranch School. Los Alamos has a county council which the people elect to four-year terms. The county council is seven members with four or three persons elected every two years to the four-year terms. The council elects a chairman and vice-chairman. Los Alamos is built on the Pajarito Plateau between White Rock Canyon and the Valles Caldera.
