Howard Wood Field is a stadium in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, constructed in 1957. Holding 10,000 people, it is one of the premier American football... and track facilities in the region. Field turf was installed to replace the natural grass after a renovation project in 2003. Howard Wood Field is host to the Howard Wood Dakota Relays, an extended weekend of collegiate and High School track and field,and soccer competition. Howard Wood Field serves as host for the Bob Burns Dakota Bowl, an annual fundraiser for O'Gorman High School, which is a Catholic school in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. The Bob Burns Dakota Bowl is focused around an American Football game between O'Gorman High School and another team chosen on a year by year basis. Additionally, Howard Wood Field is also host to the President's Bowl American football games. The President's Bowl serves as a fundraiser for extra curricular activities for the Sioux Falls, South Dakota public High Schools. From 1993 through 2006 over $1.3 million has been raised from this annual set of football games. The stadium also serves as host to other track events as well as marching band competitions.

The Washington Pavilion of Arts and Science opened in 1999 and houses an art gallery, concert hall, large-format theater, and science museum in Sioux... Falls, South Dakota, United States. The Pavilion was a result of a renovation of Washington High School which was eventually moved to the northeast side of the city. The building is of Neoclassical styling and is architecturally interesting. The building's facade is created from large blocks of Sioux Quartzite, a pinkish quartzite native to the area and seen at the falls of the Big Sioux River. A small portion of the north wing is constructed of black rock which was believed to be black quartzite but is in fact corson diabase, which is hardened liquid magma. The Washington Pavilion of Arts and Science contains the Kirby Science Discover Center, a massive 3 floor, regional, hands-on science experience. The Pavilion also houses two performing arts centers, which play host to several Broadway productions, operas, dance and concert productions. The South Dakota Symphony's home also hosts dance groups as well as smaller theater and choral events.

The Sioux Falls Convention Center, managed by Global Spectrum, opened in 1996 and has been managed by Global Spectrum since July 1, 2007. The... convention center hosts over 400 events each year. St. Joseph Cathedral is a Catholic cathedral located in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, United States. It is the seat of the Diocese of Sioux Falls. St.... Joseph Cathedral traces its history to the establishment of St. Michael’s Church, Sioux Falls' first Catholic parish. It was founded in 1881 and a wooden building was constructed for a church. Two years later a larger brick church was built. It became the Pro-Cathedral when Bishop Martin Marty, who was Vicar Apostolic of the Dakota Territory, arrived in Sioux Falls in 1889. On November 12, of the same year Pope Leo XIII established the Diocese of Sioux Falls, and St. Michael’s become the cathedral for the new diocese. Bishop Thomas O'Gorman succeeded Bishop Marty in 1896 and in time desired a new and larger cathedral. He was a friend of Archbishop John Ireland of St. Paul and he attended the dedication of the Cathedral of St. Paul in 1915. He conferred with the architect of the new St. Paul cathedral Emmanuel Masqueray, who was hired to design the present cathedral in Sioux Falls. St. Michael’s was moved and the rectory was torn down. Construction of the new cathedral was begun in 1915.

Jerry verDorn is an American actor, best known for his role as Ross Marler on the CBS daytime soap opera Guiding Light. He became one of the... longest-running cast members, debuting in the role on March 23, 1979 and portraying the character of Ross for over 26 years. He won Daytime Emmy Awards for Best Supporting Actor in 1995 and again in 1996. ver Dorn also portrayed Ross in a television movie, The Cradle Will Fall, an adaptation of a book to film using several Guiding Light characters in supporting roles. In the fall of 1994, he played the humorous lookalike role of Howie - "Hoss" - who was the total antithesis of Ross. Guiding Light took him off contract in 2005 due to severe budget cuts. His last appearance as Ross aired on October 11, 2005. On October 25, 2005, verDorn took over the role of Clint Buchanan on ABC's One Life to Live and continued in the role until the series cancellation in 2012.

Pat O'Brien is currently a radio host with Fox Sports Radio as well as an author. He is best known for his time as a sportscaster with CBS Sports ... and as anchor/host of Access Hollywood and The Insider . O'Brien covered five Olympic Games, two for CBS and three for NBC . He has also covered the World Series, Super Bowl, NBA Finals, and Final Four as a pregame host while at CBS. He authored the book Talkin' Sports: A B.S.-er's Guide, published in 1998, and will release an autobiography in 2011. Pat O'Brien grew up in Sioux Falls and graduated from Washington High School in 1966. He is a 1970 graduate of the University of South Dakota in Vermillion, where he was a Government major. He was also a member of the Delta Tau Delta fraternity. O'Brien also studied international economics at the Paul H. Nitze School of Advanced International Studies at Johns Hopkins University in Washington, D.C.

Mary Hart is an American television personality and was the long-running host of the syndicated gossip and entertainment round-up program... Entertainment Tonight from 1982 to 2011, which is the longest running entertainment magazine show of all time. Mary Hart was born Mary Johanna Harum in Madison, South Dakota and lived in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, as well as in Denmark, as a child and teenager. She speaks both Danish and Swedish fluently. Hart competed in the Miss America pageant in 1970 as Miss South Dakota, and finished in the top ten. Two years later, Hart graduated from Augustana College in Sioux Falls and while teaching English at school she also produced and anchored her own talk show on KSFY-TV, the local ABC affiliate. Also as a young adult Mary worked at JayCee Camp for the Exceptional during the summer. Hart began her full-time television career at KMTV in Omaha, Nebraska. In 1976, she went to KTVY in Oklahoma City, where she co-hosted a show with Danny Williams called Dannysday. She also was a sales representative for a school yearbook company.

Gail Matthius is an American actress and voice actress. She was a cast member of NBC's Saturday Night Live during its critical and ratings low point... at the time , and co-anchored the Weekend Update segment with Charles Rocket in 1981. Following her stint on SNL, Matthius appeared in the short-lived syndicated sketch comedy series Laugh Trax . She has done a good deal of voice acting for animated shows, including Bobby's World , Tiny Toon Adventures, Animaniacs and Bump in the Night, often using the voice of her Valley Girl and Roweena characters from Saturday Night Live . She also is a member of the Spolin Players Improv comedy troupe and acts as a drama and theater coach and teacher in Pacific Palisades, CA for various acting studios including Theatre Palisades.

Terry Jay Forster is a retired left-handed relief pitcher who played for 16 seasons in the Major Leagues. He played for five teams in his career and... recorded 127 saves during his time in the majors. Forster grew up in California and attended Santana High School in Santee, California. A talented pitcher at the high school level, he was made a second round draft pick by the Chicago White Sox in the 1970 MLB Amateur Draft. He has a daughter named Amy Forster who goes to Ottawa University and is a member of Delta Delta Delta. Forster rapidly ascended to the big league level, making the White Sox's opening day roster in 1971 after only 10 games at the single-A level in the minor leagues. He recorded a 3.99 ERA as a 19-year-old. He became Chicago's top relief pitcher in 1972 and saved 29 games, which ranked second in the American League that season. After splitting time between the bullpen and the starting rotation in 1973, Forster returned primarily to the bullpen in 1974 and led the American League in saves with 24.

Bob Stewart in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. is a freelance concert artist, educator, and studio musician. He received his Bachelor of Music Education... degree from the Philadelphia College of the Performing Arts and his Masters in Education from Lehman College Graduate School. Stewart taught music in Pennsylvania public schools and at the Fiorello H. LaGuardia High School of Music & Art and Performing Arts in New York City. He is now a professor at the Juilliard School and is a "Distinguished Lecturer" at Lehman College. Stewart has toured and recorded with such artists as Charles Mingus, Gil Evans, Carla Bley, Muhal Richard Abrams, David Murray, Taj Mahal, Dizzy Gillespie, McCoy Tyner, Arthur Blythe, Freddie Hubbard, Don Cherry, Nicholas Payton, Wynton Marsalis, Charlie Haden, Lester Bowie, Bill Frisell and many others both in the United States, Europe and the Far East. In their review of Blythe's album Lenox Avenue Breakdown, the editors of The Penguin Guide to Jazz called Stewart's title track solo "one of the few genuinely important tuba statements in jazz.
