Soulcalibur IV is the latest installment in Namco's Soul series of fighting games, and was released on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 on 29 July 2008, in North America, on 31...
Set to finally reveal the origins of the Soulcalibur saga, the game features both new and familiar faces from across the galaxy who seeks the rival swords for their own goals. Continuing the tradition of breaking new boundaries, legendary Star Wars icons Darth Vader and Yoda invade the Soulcalibur universe to add a new layer of depth, challenge, and mystery. Also for the first time in the franchise, customized characters or original favorites can be taken online to challenge others for the top spot of this timeless series.
From Namco's acclaimed weapon-based fighting series comes the fourth chapter in the series (and first for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3). Delivering new gameplay modes, characters and enhanced features with unprecedented 3D modeling and animation, Soulcalibur IV aims to be a definitive fighting game experience.
The question, then, isn't whether or not you should play Soulcalibur IV, it's which version you should play.
SoulCalibur IV doesn't stir up the pot too much, offering mostly the same gameplay as previous entries. Fortunately, the franchise has it down to a science, and the addition of online play further sweetens the deal.
The game runs well, looks beautiful, sports great music and obviously has enjoyable combat. The PS3 and 360 versions are just about identical (barring the differing guest characters), though I felt that the optional install on the PS3 made things feel eve

A fast, exciting combat system with great graphics and very deep customization is somewhat offset by... a short story mode, but overall it is a lot of fun more Published 1051 days ago by chalgyr
