Obi-Wan Kenobi is a fictional character in the Star Wars universe. He is one of several primary characters in the Star Wars series. Along with Anakin... Skywalker , R2-D2 and C-3PO, he is one of only four characters to appear in all six Star Wars films. He is portrayed in the original trilogy by Alec Guinness and in the prequel trilogy by Ewan McGregor, and is voiced by James Arnold Taylor in the Star Wars: The Clone Wars film and television series. Obi-Wan Kenobi is first introduced in Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope , where he is played by Alec Guinness and is first seen rescuing Luke Skywalker from a group of Tusken Raiders. Obi-Wan takes Luke to his hut, where he reveals that he knew Luke's father, Anakin Skywalker, and served with him in the Clone Wars. He gives Anakin's lightsaber to Luke, having told him that Darth Vader "betrayed and murdered" Anakin. Suddenly, R2-D2 plays a message from Princess Leia Organa that pleads for Obi-Wan to get the droid to her father on Alderaan.

Darth Maul is a fictional character in the science fiction saga Star Wars. He one of the main antagonists of Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace,... portrayed by martial artist Ray Park and voiced by Peter Serafinowicz. In the film, Maul serves as the apprentice of Darth Sidious, a mysterious Sith Lord who is manipulating galactic events from behind the scenes. Wielding a double-bladed lightsaber and trained as a master of lightsaber combat, Maul serves as a personal assassin for Darth Sidious, having been sent to eliminate Obi-Wan Kenobi and Qui-Gon Jinn, two of the film's protagonists. Darth Maul appears in Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace as the apprentice of Sith Lord Darth Sidious, who sends him to capture Queen Padmé Amidala and eliminate the two Jedi, Qui-Gon Jinn and Obi-Wan Kenobi. During the film's climactic scene, he stabs Qui-Gon in the stomach with his lightsaber, fatally injuring him during the duel. He then knocks Obi-Wan into a reactor chasm; at the last minute, however, Obi-Wan uses the Force to propel himself out of the chasm, equipping himself with his master's lightsaber. Obi-Wan quickly cuts Maul in half from the waist.

Palpatine is a fictional character and the main antagonist of the Star Wars saga, portrayed by Ian McDiarmid in the feature films. Palpatine first... appeared as the unnamed Emperor of the Galactic Empire in the 1980 film Star Wars Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back, and was voiced by Clive Revill. He is an aged, pale-faced figure who wears dark robes. In Return of the Jedi, Palpatine oversees the final stages of the war between the Rebel Alliance and the Empire, culminating in a confrontation with Luke Skywalker, in which Palpatine is ultimately destroyed. In the prequel trilogy, Palpatine is a middle-aged politician of the Republic who rises to power through deception and treachery. As the Senator from Naboo and later the Chancellor of the Republic, he outwardly behaves like a well-intentioned and loyal public servant and supporter of democracy, yet underneath his affable public persona lurks his true identity: Darth Sidious, a Dark Lord of the Sith.

General Grievous is a fictional character in the Star Wars universe, an antagonist who first appeared in the Cartoon Network micro-series Star Wars:... Clone Wars, and later served as a supporting villain in Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith and the CGI film Star Wars: The Clone Wars and its spinoff TV series. He has been voiced by a number of different actors, including Matthew Wood, John DiMaggio and Richard McGonagle. The character also appears extensively in the Star Wars "Expanded Universe" of novels and comic books. According to interviews and commentary found on the DVD release of Revenge of the Sith, Star Wars creator George Lucas instructed his creative team to create a hero that foreshadowed Anakin Skywalker's transformation into Darth Vader: the heavy breathing, the cyborg body, and his seduction into a malevolent faction. Grievous is portrayed as the Supreme Commander of the Confederacy of Independent Systems , a political faction of planetary systems waging war on the Galactic Republic.
