Olav Fartein Valen was a Norwegian composer and musical theorist, notable for his work within atonal polyphonic music. Valen was born in Stavanger,... Norway in 1887 into a deeply Christian religious family and maintained his religious beliefs all his life. His parents were missionaries, and he spent five years of his childhood in Madagascar. In addition to his aptitude for music, he was also a polyglot, mastering at least nine languages. He earned his examen artium with the highest grades in all subjects except mathematics. He loved cats, nature and literature, cultivated roses , and after losing them in a devastating freeze took up growing cacti. In 1906, Valen moved to Oslo to study Norwegian literature and language but also took classes with Catharinus Elling at the Oslo conservatory of music, graduating with a degree in organ playing. In 1909 he moved to Berlin to study composition at the Music Academy with Max Bruch who subsequently retired.

Liv Kristine Espenæs Krull , better known as Liv Kristine, is the former vocalist for the band Theatre of Tragedy and current vocalist for the... band Leaves' Eyes. Musical from an early age, Liv Kristine joined Theatre of Tragedy as a backup singer, but was soon sharing singing duties with Raymond István Rohonyi. She was fired from Theatre of Tragedy, which she learned about through the band's website. Already living in Germany since 1996, she formed a new band, Leaves' Eyes, in 2003 with the five musicians from Atrocity, which includes her husband, singer Alexander Krull. She has also released three solo albums, the most recent of which was released in August 2010 through Napalm Records. Liv has a soprano vocal range. In 2005 Liv Kristine was nominated for a Grammy award. On July 3, 2003, Liv Kristine married Alexander Krull. They have a son, Leon Alexander. Her younger sister, Carmen Elise Espenæs, is the vocalist of Midnattsol. Liv Kristine and her husband Alexander are vegetarians.

Erik Thorstvedt is a former Norwegian professional football goalkeeper. He won 97 caps for the Norwegian national team, and was the starter in goal... at the 1994 FIFA World Cup. He has played for Viking, Eik-Tønsberg, Borussia Mönchengladbach, IFK Göteborg and Tottenham Hotspur. He was the first Norwegian to win the FA Cup when he won it with Spurs in 1991. During his time at Tottenham Erik lived in the Hertfordshire town of Hoddesdon. Thorstvedt retired in 1996 due to back injuries. After his career as a player, he worked as a goalkeeping coach with the Norwegian national team, and had a brief spell as Director of Football at Viking. He has worked as an expert commentator/pundit for various TV channels, and was the TV-host on the Royal League matches shown on TVNorge. He was also the coach of Tufte IL, a team created for the reality-TV show Heia Tufte!. For his appearance in this show he was awarded the Se og Hør readers' TV personality of the year award. Now he has a football show every Monday called "Matchball Mandag" on TV2 where he and guests look at games played in the Norwegian Premier League with a humorous approach.

Tor Arne Hetland is a professional Norwegian cross-country skier. Hetland was born in Stavanger. He now lives in Trondheim and is with the... Byåsen IL ski club there. Hetland is 6 ft 2 in and 12 st 10 lb . He is coached by Ulf Morten Aune. Hetland began his career in 1990, but only started competing in the World Cup in 1996/97, where he finished 11th in the long distance standings and 46th in the sprint, finishing 30th in the overall standings. The year after he did much worse, coming 42nd in the long distance, and 78th in the sprint, finishing 62nd overall. For the next three seasons he improved his overall standing and became a main contender in the sprint. In 1998/99 he came 2nd in the sprints, and 23rd in the overall, in 1999/2000 he came 4th in the sprints but had a better long distance season than the one before, and in 2000/01 he came 3rd in the sprints and 12th overall. In 2001/02 he came 13th in the overall standing, whilst finishing the sprint in 6th, and in 2003/04 he came 4th in the sprint, and claimed his first distance points, coming in 37th, and 14th in the overall.

Sigvart Dagsland is a Norwegian singer, pianist and composer. He writes and performs in various genres, his more recent albums being pop-rock. He... has recorded 14 albums and performs 30–50 concerts every year. He has been nominated to the Norwegian Spellemannsprisen three times in the pop genre. Dagsland grew up at Stokka, Stavanger in Southern Norway. He performed as a boy soprano in Stavanger Church Choir in the period 1975 to 1977 and as tenor in the Sentralkoret in 1978 to 1980. He holds a Master's degree in Law. He is married to the musician Karoline Krüger.
