Maurice Ernest Gibb, CBE was a musician, singer-songwriter and record producer. He was born in the Isle of Man to English parents, the twin brother... of Robin Gibb and younger brother to Barry. He is best known as a member of the singing/songwriting trio the Bee Gees, formed with his brothers. The trio got their start in Australia, and found major success when they returned to England. The Bee Gees became one of the most successful pop groups ever. Born Maurice Ernest Gibb to Barbara and Hugh Gibb on the Isle of Man, Maurice was the fraternal twin brother of Robin Gibb, and was the younger of the twins by 35 minutes. The fourth-born of five children, he had one older sister, Lesley , and three brothers, Barry , twin Robin , and Andrew . In the 1950s, the family moved to Chorlton-cum-Hardy in Manchester, England, then in late 1958, they moved to Brisbane, Australia, settling in one of the city's poorest suburbs, Cribb Island, which was subsequently demolished to make way for the Brisbane Airport. Gibb was married to the Scottish pop star Lulu from 1969 to 1973.

Robin Hugh Gibb, CBE is a singer and songwriter. He is best known as a member of the Bee Gees, co-founded with his twin brother Maurice and elder... brother Barry. Born in the Isle of Man to English parents, the family later moved to Manchester before settling in Brisbane, Australia. Gibb began his career as part of the family trio and when the group found major success they returned to the United Kingdom. With record sales estimated in excess of 200 million units, the Bee Gees became one of the most successful pop groups of all time. Born to Barbara and Hugh Gibb in the Isle of Man, Gibb is the twin brother of Maurice Gibb, and is the older of the twins by 35 minutes. The third-born of five children, Gibb has one older sister, Lesley , and three brothers: Barry , twin Maurice , and Andy . Gibb's mother Barbara was born in Worsley, Salford, and in the 1950s, the family returned to Manchester, England. The family lived on Keppel Road, Chorlton-cum-Hardy and it was here that the young Gibb brothers sang together and performed in local theatres.
