Stockton

Amos Alonzo Stagg Memorial Stadium, previously known as Pacific Memorial Stadium, is a 28,000 seat, outdoor multi-purpose stadium on the campus of... the University of the Pacific in Stockton, California. Pacific Memorial Stadium was built in 1950 after the successful fund drive which netted $165,000. Most of this money was through the sale of pre-ordered tickets, which were usable over a 10-year period. Construction began on the earth-filled structure in May 1950. Astonishingly, it was finished on time for the first football game of the season on 21 October 1950, a build time of less than 6 months. Pacific Memorial originally contained 35,975 seats with room for expansion to over 44,000, but renovations have reduced the capacity to current configuration of 28,000. Recent additions to the stadium include the Pacific Club on the east-side of the stadium, as well as a scoreboard. The Pacific Club, situated opposite the press box, was donated by Alex Spanos at a cost of $250,000. It seats up to 300, featuring glass walls and a great view of the stadium for those lucky enough to be admitted. When not in use for sporting events, it also holds many university functions and gatherings.

Chi Cheng, is a Chinese American musician, best known as the bass guitarist for the American band Deftones. Cheng went to school for a little while... at CSU Sacramento. He is the author of a collection of poetry entitled The Bamboo Parachute released in 2000 as a spoken word album. He has a wife, Colleen, and a son with ex-wife Adrienne. He is also a practicing Buddhist, and maintains an interest in Taoism and Shamanism. Cheng also sponsors a community service group based out of the band's hometown of Sacramento, California. The group aids homeless citizens in developing their musical talents, among other things. Cheng is also a vegetarian. During college, he read No Denial!: A Handbook for Becoming a Socially, Environmentally, and Personally Responsible Citizen of the Planet by Neill S. Cohen and decided to make the switch. Cheng was seriously injured in an automobile accident in Santa Clara, California, on November 4, 2008. Cheng had been traveling with his sister, Mae, when their vehicle flipped three times after hitting another car going 60 mph, ultimately ejecting Cheng, who was in the passenger seat, not wearing a seat belt.

Jazz Raycole is the stage name of Jazzmine Raycole Dillingham , an American actress and dancer. She is probably best known for her role as Claire... Kyle on the sitcom My Wife and Kids during its first season. Raycole was born in Stockton, California, US. She is a trained dancer who was involved in competition by the age of four. Raycole appeared in the first dozen episodes of My Wife and Kids. However she was subsequently replaced on the show by Jennifer Freeman when the second season began. It is reported that Raycole was removed from the show by her mother, who was concerned about a storyline involving the pregnancy of a friend. She has since appeared on other television series, including Everybody Hates Chris, Monk, iCarly and The Office. She also once featured as the voice of a one-time appearing character named Chloe on Hey Arnold! in 2000. Raycole made her first appearance in the 1995 movie Waiting to Exhale. She played Allison Hawkins in the post-apocalyptic drama Jericho in 2007 and 2008.

Ace Andres is an American songwriter, guitarist, vocalist, political activist and 2012 Wikipedia donor. He is atypical of rock musicians in that he... is overtly conservative politically. The Wave Magazine of Silicon Valley, referred to Ace Andres' music in its October 2005 issue as "fast, loud, unapologetically confrontational rock." The Wave Magazine went so far as to refer to Ace as a Guitar god. In later a issue The Wave Magazine would use Ace Andres as a synonym for a guitar virtuoso. He was born in Stockton, California to parents that were in the restaurant/nightclub business. Ace was born in the same hospital around the same time as singer Chris Isaak. Both would attend A.A.Stagg Highschool while living in North Stockton California. Chris was Ace's Highschool President. In the summer of 1968, Ace Andres was introduced to politics. His neighbor was California congressman and House Majority Whip John J. McFall CA. Ace worked in the congressman's re-election headquarters. In 1972 Ace became a volunteer team leader for the "George McGovern for President" campaign.

Charles Lopez better known by his stage name Rust Epique, was an American guitarist and painter, who gained fame while performing with the bands... Crazy Town and preThing. A native Californian, he was also well known for his enthusiastic rock star lifestyle. Epique was born in Stockton, California, but raised in Modesto, California. He lived there until choosing to pursue a musical career that allowed him to tour with many bands, including "Kinesthesia", "Xit", "The Limit", and "Cliff Morrison". In 1989, he relocated to Hollywood to further his career. In 1999, he joined Crazy Town, a rapcore band from Los Angeles. The band earned significant recognition with their hit single, Butterfly, which topped the Billboard Hot 100 in 2001. Despite his success with Crazy Town, Epique quit the band as a result of various disagreements with his band mates. He formed the band Rustandthesuperheroes and began working on a four track demo CD to shop to the record labels. In 2003, V2 Records signed Epique to work with a band called PreThing. They released their debut album, 22nd Century Lifestyle, in 2004 to much radio success.

Ross Schuler Thomas is an American film and television actor who currently has the regular role of Bailey Reese on the teen drama television series... Beyond the Break. Thomas attended St. Mary's High School in Stockton, California. He studied theater at both Arizona State University and the University of Southern California, earning his degree at USC in 2005 with a Bachelor of Arts in Theatre Arts. Thomas later moved to Los Angeles to pursue a career in film and television. After many attempts and auditions, Thomas landed a role and currently stars in the show Beyond the Break . Other film credits include the critically acclaimed title role of Seth in the independent film What's Bugging Seth. A winner of numerous film festival awards, What's Bugging Seth is the story of a young deaf man trying to start his own business while facing all of life's obstacles that can be expected to be encountered by a person with a disability. Additionally, Thomas starred opposite Lesly Jordan in the independent dark comedy Sissy Frenchfry, which was also a film festival winner.

Lamont Johnson was an American actor and film director who has appeared in and directed many television shows and movies. He won two Emmy Awards.... Johnson was born Ernest Lamont Johnson, Jr. in Stockton, California, the son of Ruth Alice and Ernest Lamont Johnson, who was a realtor. Johnson began his career in radio, playing the role of Tarzan in a popular syndicated series in 1951. Johnson was also one of several actors to play Archie Goodwin in "The New Adventures of Nero Wolfe", opposite Sydney Greenstreet on NBC Radio.He then turned to films and television, first as an actor, then as a director. Johnson also directed productions of the operas The Man in the Moon , Iphigénie en Tauride , and Orfeo . Johnson was nominated for eleven Emmy Awards, winning twice, for Wallenberg: A Hero's Story and Lincoln , and for eight Directors Guild of America Awards, winning four times, for Profiles in Courage , My Sweet Charlie , That Certain Summer , and Lincoln.

Christopher Joseph "Chris" Isaak is an American rock musician and occasional actor. Isaak was born in Stockton, California, the son of Dorothy , a... potato chip factory worker, and Joe Isaak, a forklift driver. Isaak's mother is Italian American, originating from Genoa. Isaak's father is German American. Isaak signed a contract to Warner Bros. Records in 1984 for his first album Silvertone. The tracks "Gone Ridin'" and "Livin' for Your Lover", from this album, were featured in David Lynch's cult classic Blue Velvet. Isaak's second self-titled album Chris Isaak was photographed by fashion photographer Bruce Weber. Isaak's contract was renewed in 1988 when Warner Bros. moved him to their Reprise Records label. His best-known song is "Wicked Game." Though released on the 1989 album Heart Shaped World, an instrumental version of the song was later featured in the 1990 David Lynch film Wild at Heart. Lee Chesnut, an Atlanta radio station music director who was obsessed with Lynch films, began playing the vocal version and it quickly became the station's most-requested song.

Grant-Lee Phillips is a singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist known for his versatile voice, intense lyrical narratives and dexterity on the... acoustic twelve-string guitar, a style that often sees him compared to Neil Young, Van Morrison, Bruce Springsteen and Bob Dylan. Born in Stockton, California, Phillips began playing the guitar in his early teens and persevered throughout high school. At age 19 he moved to Los Angeles where he worked tarring roofs to fund evening classes at UCLA and the possibility of forming a band at weekends. He eventually dropped out of college and linked up with an old friend from Stockton named Jeffery Clark. In the late 1980s Phillips lived on campus at CalArts with future wife Denise Siegel, who he met at a party through a fellow student and first Shiva Burlesque bassist, James Brenner. Phillips lived and informally took art classes, went to public lectures, film screenings and immersed himself in the constant goings on of the school's World Music program until 1990.

Scott "Spiral Stairs" Kannberg is a musician best known for being a founding member of the indie-rock band Pavement. Kannberg was a childhood friend... of Stephen Malkmus, both of them growing up in Stockton, California. Together they would form the band Pavement under the pseudonyms "Spiral Stairs" and "SM", respectively. Kannberg wrote and sang lead vocals on several Pavement songs, including "Painted Soldiers", "Hit the Plane Down", "Kennel District", "Date w/IKEA", and "Passat Dream". After Pavement disbanded he formed a new band called Preston School of Industry on Matador Records. The band released two albums and an EP, but became inactive in 2004.
