Taaqatwar is a 1989 Bollywood action film directed by David Dhawan and starring Sanjay Dutt, Govinda, Neelam and Anita Raj.
David Dhawan is an Indian film director. He has studied at the Film and Television Institute of India, Pune. Dhawan started off as an editor and then took the plunge into directing. He specializes in directing comedy films, most of which have featured either Govinda, Salman Khan, Anil Kapoor or... Sanjay Dutt in lead roles, along with Raveena Tandon, Karisma Kapoor and Juhi Chawla playing the leading actresses. Kader Khan, Shakti Kapoor, Johnny Lever and Paresh Rawal appear in his films playing supporting roles. His biggest success to date is the 1993 film Aankhen, starring Govinda and Chunkey Pandey. His film, Partner also became a big success at the box office. Dhawan is considered one of the most successful directors in Bollywood, but he has been at many times blamed for copying Hollywood and South Indian films. He once had two of his films released on the same date and both did well. Dhawan is on the board of Asian Academy Of Film & Television and Asian School Of Media Studies where he has been honoured with an Academy Award by Sandeep Marwah.more
Anu Malik , born Anwar Sardaar Malik, is a music director in the Hindi film industry. Son of veteran music director Sardar Malek, Anu Malik made his... debut as a music composer in the year 1977. In the 90's Anu had hits like 'Phir Teri Kahani Yaad Aayee', 'Baazigar' and 'Jaanam'. The beginning of the millennium saw him winning the National Award for his music for J.P. Dutta's 'Refugee', and also the Filmfare Special Jury Award for his outstanding music in the film. He has also won the Filmfare Best Music Director Award for 'Main Hoon Na' and 'Baazigar'. He was nominated 14 times for the Filmfare Award for Best Music Director. Anu Malik has been judging the television phenomenon 'Indian Idol' for the last three seasons and continues to be a member of the jury for the fourth season as well. He has also rendered many of his own compositions like Garam Chaye Ki Pyali, Gori Gori and the recent Meri Jane Jigar.
