Talia Balsam is an American actress. Balsam was born in New York City to actors Martin Balsam and Joyce Van Patten. Balsam made her television debut in Alexander: The Other Side of Dawn in 1977. Survival of Dana was her second TV lead role. She appeared in multiple episodes of Happy Days, Taxi, Family Ties, thirtysomething, Murder, She Wrote, Almost Perfect, Archie Bunker's Place, L.A. Doctors, Tour of Duty, and K Street. In more recent years, she had a recurring role as Anthony LaPaglia's estranged wife on Without a Trace and appears as Mona Sterling on Mad Men opposite her husband, John... Slattery. Balsam made her Broadway debut in the 1992 Neil Simon play Jake's Women and won the Theatre World Award for her performance. Balsam's screen credits include Mass Appeal, Crawlspace, Killer Instinct, Little Manhattan, All the King's Men, and The Wackness, and the 2011 independent film Return, with Slattery. Balsam was married to actor George Clooney from 1989 to 1993. Balsam has been married to John Slattery since 1998, with whom she has one child.
