Paavo Järvi is an Estonian-American conductor, and current Music Director of the Orchestre de Paris. Järvi was born in Tallinn, Estonia,... to conductor Neeme Järvi and Liilia Järvi. His siblings, Kristjan Järvi and Maarika Järvi, are also musicians. He studied at the Curtis Institute of Music with Max Rudolf and Otto-Werner Mueller, and at the Los Angeles Philharmonic Institute with Leonard Bernstein. From 1994-97 Järvi was principal conductor of the Malmö Symphony Orchestra. He was named music director of the Cincinnati Symphony in January 2000, and assumed the post with the 2001-2002 season. In April 2007, the orchestra announced Järvi's contract with the CSO would be extended through 2011, at which point the contract would become an "evergreen" agreement. In addition to his American position, since 2004, he has been the artistic director of the Deutsche Kammerphilharmonie, Bremen and an Artistic Advisor to Estonian National Symphony Orchestra. In January 2010, however, it was announced that Järvi, who will by then hold three directorships on top of his Cincinnati position, would terminate his tenure with the expiration of his current contract in 2011.

Marya Roxx is a hard rock/metal singer-songwriter residing in Los Angeles. She is a former member of Estonian girl band Vanilla Ninja. Roxx won an... Estonian children's singing contest "Laulukarusell" in 1993 , 1994 and 1998. She is the only person to have won three times. In 1997 Roxx won another contest "Tähtede laul" . In 2002 she placed seventh in Eurolaul . When the girl band Vanilla Ninja was founded in 2003, Roxx was selected as one of the solo singers and the bass player. She recorded two albums with the band, Vanilla Ninja and Traces Of Sadness. Roxx left the group in mid-2004. She has a daughter, Dora-Liisa , with husband and former Vanilla Ninja manager Renee Meriste. Roxx teamed up with producer Kevin Shirley to record her debut album 'Payback Time'. It features musicians Paul Crook, Scott Metaxas, Derek Sherinian and Brian Tichy. 21?! EP was released from this recording in 2008.

Lenna Kuurmaa is an Estonian singer-songwriter and actress. She is a member of the girl group Vanilla Ninja, but after the band's hiatus since 2009,... has started work as a solo-artist. She released her debut album Lenna in June 2010. From 1990 to 2002, Lenna Kuurmaa was a member of the ETV Lasteekraani Muusikastuudio and performed together with the choir in many festivals internationally . She studied violin in Tallinn Music School from 2000 to 2006 under teacher Urvo Uibokand. She received vocal training from Ester Lepa and Ludmilla Issakova 1997–2002. In 2002 she took part of televised singing contest Fizz Superstar, where she made it to the quarter-finals. In the same year Kuurmaa, together with 3 other girls, formed the rock band Vanilla Ninja. After Vanilla Ninja's hiatus in 2009, Lenna Kuurmaa started working as a solo-musician with the artist-name Lenna. In June 2010, she released her debut album Lenna under Mortimer Snerd.

Katrin Siska is an Estonian musician and member of the Estonian pop-rock band Vanilla Ninja. Alongside her musical commitments, Siska has also been... studying finance and accounting at a vocational school and international relations and diplomacy in Tallinn. After moving back to Estonia with Vanilla Ninja from Germany in year 2006 she went back to the university again - now she is studying law at Tallinn University of Technology. She is fluent in Estonian, Russian, English, German and Finnish. At the university she has been studying also French. Siska was a member of a choir during her schooltime and started playing the piano when she was 7 years old. She has a younger sister. In August 2009, Siska joined the Estonian Centre Party.

Piret Järvis is an Estonian singer, guitarist and songwriter of the popular girl group Vanilla Ninja. Currently she is working as a presenter... and an editor for the Estonian Public Broadcasting. Born to Maire and Enno Järvis she has an older sister and a younger brother. After graduating high-school she won a scholarship to continue her studies at the International University of Concordia where she was majoring in Media and Public Relations. Currently she is studying journalism and communications at the University of Tartu. She joined Vanilla Ninja in 2002 and is one of three members to have stayed a member since its formation. Piret has written lyrics for the song "Club Kung Fu", that made Vanilla Ninja well known in Estonia. She has continued as a lyricist for many of the band's songs like "Birds Of Peace", "I Don't Care At All", "Black Symphony" etc. Although she initially played a more 'background' role in the group, she featured heavily on their 2005 album Blue Tattoo due to Maarja Kivi leaving in 2004.

Jüri Järvet was an Estonian actor. His name sometimes appears as Yuri Yevgenyevich Yarvet, an incorrect back-transliteration from the... Russian transliteration Юри Евгеньевич Ярвет. His birthname was Georgi Kuznetsov, and he took the Estonian form in 1938. Järvet is best known in the West for the role of Dr. Snaut in Andrei Tarkovsky's Solaris, but he played in numerous other films both in Russian and his native Estonian. He was awarded the title of People's Artist of the USSR in 1975, and the USSR State Prize in 1981. Järvet played the title role in a powerful version of King Lear filmed on bleak landscapes in his native Estonia by Russian director Grigori Kozintsev and released in 1970. Kozintsev shared the screenwriting credit with Boris Pasternak; the score was by Dmitri Shostakovich. His son Jüri Järvet Jr. has also acted in several movies, including All My Lenins and Khrustalyov, My Car!.
