Wells Fargo Arena is a 10,754-seat multi-purpose arena at 634 E Veterans Way in Tempe, Arizona, USA, a suburb of Phoenix, Arizona. Constructed in the... spring of 1974 as the as the Arizona State University Activity Center and at the cost of $8 million, the facility also plays host to graduation ceremonies and a variety of concerts and shows. The structure is 400 feet long, 340 feet wide and six stories high. The structure contains offices and locker rooms for Arizona State basketball teams, along with space for weight training, a training room and an equipment room. Naming rights for the arena were purchased by Wells Fargo & Co. in 1997. It is home to multiple Arizona State University athletics teams including men's and women's basketball as well as volleyball, gymnastics and wrestling. It hosted the 1990 Pacific-10 Conference men's basketball tournament. Previously, the Sun Devils played at Sun Devil Gym.

Tempe Diablo Stadium is a baseball field located in Tempe, Arizona. It is the spring training home of the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim and the home... field for night games of the Arizona League Tempe Angels. It was the spring training home of the Seattle Pilots in 1969 and 1970 [the Pilots moved to Milwaukee after spring training in March 1970 and prior to the 1970 regular season], the Milwaukee Brewers in 1971 and 1972, and the Seattle Mariners from 1977 through 1993; the Mariners now play at the Peoria Sports Complex, with the San Diego Padres. The stadium was built in 1968 and holds 9,558 people. The stadium underwent an extensive $20 million renovation and was rededicated on Mar. 3, 2006. The renovation included the main stadium, the Major League Fields and the Minor League Complex on site. In return for the newly updated stadium, the Angels agreed to extend their spring training lease through Dec. 31, 2025. $12 million of the renovations were funded by the Arizona Sports and Tourism Authority, a municipal corporation charged with funding renovations of Cactus League stadiums throughout Maricopa County. Tempe Diablo Stadium can be seen from the Maricopa Freeway.

Grady Gammage Memorial Auditorium is considered to be the last public commission of architect Frank Lloyd Wright. Groundbreaking took place and... construction on the building began on May 23, 1962. It took 25 months to complete. The built-on-time, under-budget building opened in 1964 with the Philadelphia Orchestra conducted by Eugene Ormandy. The auditorium is named for Dr. Grady Gammage, President of Arizona State University from 1933 to 1959. The auditorium is located on the main campus of Arizona State University in Tempe at the crossroads of Mill avenue and Apache Boulevard. The building was placed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1985. The structure measures 300 feet long by 250 feet wide by 80 feet high. Fifty concrete columns support the round roof with its pattern of interlocking circles. Twin "flying buttress" pedestrian ramps extending 200 feet from the north and east sides of the structure connect the building to the parking lot. The auditorium seats a total of 3,017 people on its main floor, grand tier and balcony.

Old Main was the second building on the campus of Arizona State University, in Tempe, Arizona. It was built in 1898, 14 years before Arizona became a... state. In 1985, Old Main was added to the National Register of Historic Places. Dedicated in February 1898, Old Main was originally all classrooms on the second and third floor, with an auditorium on the upper floor and a library on the lower level . In 1911, Theodore Roosevelt came to Arizona for the dedication of the Roosevelt Dam, and spoke on the steps of Old Main. In his speech, he envisioned the opportunities the dam and the resulting irrigation for farming would create for Arizona and opined that some day perhaps as many as 100,000 people might live in the valley. The dam made possible the Salt River Project and eventually led to the evolution of the Salt River Valley as a major metropolitan area. For decades, Old Main was the largest building in the Valley. Its significance to the development of both Tempe and the university was great.

Jules and Cindy Crawford shared a bunkroom in the early years of her modeling career. In 1986, she graduated from McClintock High School in Tempe. She attended UCLA graduating with a degree in Political Science. In her early 20s she was briefly married to Matthew Asner, son of actor Edward Asner. On May 10, 2003, she married movie director Steven Soderbergh. Soderbergh often credits Asner with influencing his female characters. Asner is an award winning journalist and long-time E! personality. During her peak with the network she hosted six hours of programming daily. Among the series she hosted were Revealed with Jules Asner, E! News Live and Wild On! as well as many live specials for the network. She received a Prism Award as well as a Gracie Award for her interview show 'Revealed with Jules Asner'.

Rex Allen Hudler is a radio broadcaster for the Kansas City Royals and a former Major League Baseball utility player. He played a total of thirteen... seasons after being a first round draft pick of the New York Yankees in 1978. He played for 6 different Major League Baseball teams and at every position except pitcher and catcher throughout his career: the New York Yankees , Baltimore Orioles , Montreal Expos , St. Louis Cardinals , California Angels , and Philadelphia Phillies . He also played for the Yakult Swallows of the Japanese Central League in 1993. Hudler saw playing time in the minor leagues with the Rochester Red Wings of the Triple-A International League in 1986 and 1987. Hudler then saw playing time with the Triple-A Indianapolis Indians of the American Association in 1988 as the starting third baseman. During his playing career in Japan, he contributed to the team's back-to-back league championship and its second-ever Japan Series championship since its first title in 1978.

Bill Leen is a bass player from Tempe, Arizona. He is a member of the band Gin Blossoms, which he co-founded in 1987 with his longtime friend Doug... Hopkins. Leen graduated from McClintock High School in Tempe, then studied English and philosophy at Arizona State University, leaving during his junior year to devote his energies to music. Leen's friends know him for his sardonic wit, and his extensive knowledge of American music. He and Doug Hopkins played in a variety of local Tempe bands during the early 1980s, including The Moral Majority and The Psalms before moving to Portland, OR and forming The 10 o'Clock Scholars. His first taste of musical notoriety occurred while playing with the Psalms. The Psalms were asked to fill in for up-and-coming band R.E.M. which had cancelled a show, opening for Billy Idol, at the Devil House nightclub in Tempe.

Ron Carlson is an American novelist and short story writer. Carlson was born in Logan, Utah, and grew up in Salt Lake City. He received a masters... degree in English from the University of Utah. He then taught at The Hotchkiss School in Connecticut, where he began his first novel. He became a professor of English at Arizona State University in 1985, teaching creative writing to undergraduates and graduates, and ultimately becoming director of its Creative Writing Program. Carlson currently teaches at the University of California, Irvine. His short stories originally appeared in The New Yorker, Harper's Magazine, Esquire, and GQ. In addition to his fiction, Carlson's has also written for The New York Times Book Review and the Los Angeles Times Book Review. He wrote of his first "good" story: "I did not understand my story; many times you don’t. It’s not your job to understand or evaluate or edit your work when you first emerge from it. Your duty is to be in love with it, and that defies explanation." The short story "Keith", from The Hotel Eden, was adapted into a film by Todd Kessler .

A go-to girl for Trey Parker and Matt Stone, Makinson guest starred on their political sitcom, That's My Bush, and has contributed voices to their long running animated series, South Park. She has also contributed sketches and characters to ABC's Jimmy Kimmel Live, CBS' Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson, and Showtime's The Underground.

Tom Luginbill is a college football analyst for ESPN. Luginbill grew up in Tempe, Arizona and San Diego. He is the son of the professional and... college coach Al Luginbill. Luginbill was the starting quarterback for three colleges over his four year career. He had varying degrees of success ranging from a national championship to a one win season. He played football for Palomar College from 1992–1993, where he amassed 21 wins. In 1993, he led Palomar to the National Junior College championship and a perfect 11–0 record, and was named a first-team All-American by the Junior College Athletic Bureau. Luginbill also set the all-time national junior college record for passing while playing for Palomar Junior College, becoming the most highly recruited junior college player in the nation. He still owns numerous team records at Palomar . He then transferred to Georgia Tech and won the starting quarterback position in 1994 from Donnie Davis, who had started all eleven games the previous year.
