Stephen LaTreal McNair was an American football quarterback who spent the majority of his NFL career with the Tennessee Titans. McNair played college football at Alcorn State in Lorman, Mississippi, where he won the 1994 Walter Payton Award as the top player in NCAA Division I-AA. He was drafted... third overall by the NFL's Houston Oilers in 1995, becoming the Oilers' regular starting quarterback in 1997, their first season in Tennessee , and remained the starting quarterback for the Titans through 2005. After the 2005 season, McNair was traded to the Baltimore Ravens, with whom he played for two seasons before retiring after thirteen NFL seasons. McNair led the Titans to the playoffs four times, and the Ravens once, and played in Super Bowl XXXIV with the Titans. He is the Titans' all-time leading passer. McNair was selected to the Pro Bowl three times, was All-Pro and Co-MVP in 2003, all as a Titan. McNair died on July 4, 2009, when his mistress, Sahel Kazemi, shot and killed him before turning the gun on herself.

Christopher Mario Johnson is an American football cornerback for the Oakland Raiders of the National Football League. He was drafted by the Green Bay Packers in the seventh round of the 2003 NFL Draft. He played college football at Louisville. Johnson previously played for the St. Louis Rams and... Kansas City Chiefs. Johnson was born in Gladewater, Texas. At Pine Tree High School, Johnson started in the football team for three years; during his senior season, he intercepted 12 passes and helped the team reach a 7-3 record. Johnson attended Blinn College in Brenham, Texas and transferred to the University of Louisville, where he was a letterwinner for two years and majored in administration of justice. At Louisville, Johnson had 44 total tackles , one tackle for a loss, and seven defended passes. In the 2002 Liberty Bowl, his first-ever major bowl game, Johnson started and intercepted a pass in the fourth quarter to seal the Louisville Cardinals victory over the BYU Cougars 28-10. Michael Devin Griffin is a professional American football safety for the Tennessee Titans of the National Football League. He was drafted in the 1st round of the 2007 NFL Draft by the Titans. He played college football at the University of Texas. Griffin played running back and defensive back at... Bowie High School. He rushed for 2,127 yards and 25 TDs along with averaging 23.4 yards per catch in his final two seasons, earning honorable mention all-state honors as a running back and All-Central Texas at both running back and defensive back. Griffin started his college football career in 2003 as a true freshman at the University of Texas in Austin. Griffin played all 12 games that season, but only started against Texas Tech and Washington State. Griffin recorded 65 tackles, with two sacks, and forced three fumbles. Griffin's sophomore season, 2004, he also played 12 games, starting one. He registered 49 tackles, one sack, blocked two punts, tallied an interception, forced a fumble, and recovered a fumble. For Griffin's junior season, 2005, he started 12 of 13 games at strong safety.

The Jacksonville Jaguars are a professional American football team based in Jacksonville, Florida. Since 1933 Jacksonville has been the site of the annual Florida vs. Georgia Football Classic, a major college football rivalry game between the University of Florida Gators and the University of Georgia Bulldogs, and since 1946, the city has hosted the Gator Bowl, one of the oldest annual college football bowl games.

The Broncos won the first-ever American Football League game over the Boston Patriots, 13–10, on September 9, 1960. On August 5, 1967, they became the first ever AFL team to defeat an NFL team after beating the Detroit Lions, 13–7, in a preseason game. However, the Broncos were largely not successful in the 1960s, compiling a record of 39–97–4 in the league.
