Ashes of Eden is a Star Trek novel co-written by William Shatner, Judith Reeves-Stevens, and Garfield Reeves-Stevens as part of the "Shatnerverse" series of novels. This is Shatner's first Trek collaboration. The audio adaptation of the book is notable as the first time in the entire Star Trek franchise that the famous phrase "Beam me up, Scotty" is uttered in that form. The story is set six months before James T. Kirk dies, as shown in Star Trek Generations. While coping with retirement on Earth, Kirk meets a young seductive Klingon/Romulan woman named Teilani. Her planet is being threatened... due to its fountain of youth properties. Kirk and the rest of the Enterprise crew team up to make an attempt at saving her planet from destruction. DC Comics created a one-shot graphic novel adaptation of this novel.
