The Company Men is an American drama film written and directed by John Wells. It premiered at the 26th Sundance Film Festival on January 22, 2010 and had a one-week run in December 10, 2010 to be eligible for the year's Academy Awards. The film was commercially released in the United States and Canada on January 21, 2011. GTX is a well diversified business based in Boston, Massachusetts, with divisions of Healthcare and Shipping among many others. It is downsized, many employees are fired, including Bobby Walker . He is a white-collar corporate ladder-climbing employee with a... six-figure salary, with a wife, a teenage son and a little daughter. He gets outplacement services, but without success. He gradually loses luxuries such as his country club membership and his Porsche, and since the family has hardly saved any money they finally have to sell their expensive house with a large mortgage, and move in with Walker's parents, although in the past it had been a relief for Walker to move out. Ultimately Walker has to take a job installing drywall with his blue-collar brother-in-law, Jack Dolan .
