The Damned

Chiswick Records was a British record company. Chiswick was the "first true 'indie' label" to be established in Britain for nearly a decade". The label has been described as "significant" in the "punk era". It released some of the earliest records recorded by Billy Bragg, Kirsty MacColl, Shane... MacGowan, the band that became Simple Minds, and Joe Strummer. The label was started by Roger Armstrong and Ted Carroll in 1975 as a subsidiary of Rock On Records. Shortly after Trevor Churchill joined it was incorporated into Swift Records Ltd. Two years later it entered into a licensing deal with EMI. Subsidiary Ace Records was started in 1978, and Chiswick closed in 1983. Hit artists include The Damned, Motörhead, Radio Stars, and Sniff 'n' the Tears. The label released a number of sampler Compilation albums showcasing their bands. These included Submarine Tracks & Fool's Gold and Long Shots, Dead Certs And Odds On Favourites .

Stiff Records is a record label created in London in 1976, by entrepreneurs Dave Robinson and Andrew Jakeman , and active until 1985. It was reactivated in 2007. Established at the outset of the punk rock boom, Stiff Records signed pub rock acts and marketed them as punk and New Wave, including... Nick Lowe, Wreckless Eric, Plummet Airlines, Elvis Costello and Ian Dury. The label's marketing and advertising was often provocative and witty. Stiff billed itself as "The World's Most Flexible Record Label". Other slogans were "We came. We saw. We left", "If It Ain't Stiff, It Ain't Worth a Fuck", and "When You Kill Time, You Murder Success" . On the label of Stiff's sampler compilation Heroes & Cowards was printed: "In '78 everyone born in '45 will be 33-1/3". A very early Stiff sampler album, A Bunch of Stiff Records, introduced the slogan, "If they're dead, we'll sign them" and "Undertakers to the Industry".

Bronze Records is an independent English record label set up in 1971 by record producer Gerry Bron, and based in Chalk Farm, London. Bron had been producing Uriah Heep for Vertigo Records, and he set up this new label for future Uriah Heep releases, along with Juicy Lucy, Richard Barnes and... Colosseum. Others subsequent acts included Osibisa, Paladin, Manfred Mann's Earth Band , The Real Kids, Sally Oldfield, Motörhead, The Damned, Girlschool, Bronz and Hawkwind. Original manufacturing and distribution was through Island Records, moving to EMI in 1977 and then onto Polydor Records in 1980. The label folded in financial difficulty in the mid 1980s with the catalogue being sold to Ray Richards' Legacy Records. It was reported in early 2003 that Bron and Pete Brown had "renewed an association that went back over many years. They realised that they still had one outstanding interest in common - a love of music - particularly British music So the Bronze label was launched again.
