The End of Evangelion is a 1997 Japanese animated science fiction film written by Hideaki Anno, who co-directed with Kazuya Tsurumaki. The film is divided into two approximately 45-minute episodes: Episode 25': Love is Destructive and Episode 26': ONE MORE FINAL: I need you , an allusion to Charly, in the Japanese version. They can be considered as either a "replacement" or a more detailed, "real world" account of the final two episodes of the popular animated series Neon Genesis Evangelion, which takes place almost completely in the minds of the main characters . Gainax originally proposed... to title it Evangelion: Rebirth 2. Shinji Ikari, still distraught over the death of Kaworu Nagisa, pleads for help from an unconscious Asuka Langley Soryu, telling her that he is scared of Rei and Misato and that he needs her.
