The Four Feathers

The Four Feathers is a 1929 American war film directed by Merian C. Cooper and starring Fay Wray. It has the distinction of being one of the last major Hollywood pictures of the silent era, although it was also released by Paramount Pictures in a version with a Movietone soundtrack with music and sound effects only. It is the third film version of the 1902 novel of the same name written by A.E.W. Mason.

Lothar Mendes was a German screenwriter and film director. His best-known work was the 1934 film, Jew Suss. From 1926 to 1928, Mendes was married to British-born American actress Dorothy Mackaill. The marriage ended in divorce. He was born in Berlin and died in London.
